Říká se, že když někdo zemře, v jeho blízkosti se narodí někdo další. Nekonečná smyčka opakující se v pravidelných intervalech. Definice chladu, temnoty a dlouhých stínů. Vždycky jsem měl rád hudbu, o které lze napsat, že vznikala při setkání s nemrtvými. Dánské STRYCHNOS jsem si zařadil mezi démony již v roce 2011, když vydali EP "Undead Unsouls Unbound".
Pánové pokračují ve své morbidní práci i letos. Opět se jedná o výbušnou směs death metalu, blacku s heavy účinkem. Stačí zapnout play a ihned se ocitnete několik metrů pod zemí. Po stěnách stéká hnis, vše smrdí jako rozkládající se těla a krysy čekají na další skladbu. Smrt je jediná jistota!
"A Mother's Curse" je děsivou nahrávkou. Hudbu asi nejlépe charakterizuje motiv na obalu s mrazivým motivem, který vychází ze sochy dánského sochaře Nielse Hansena Jacobsena „Smrt a matka“ z roku 1892. Přidejte si skvělý chladný, masivní zvuk a budete ztraceni v podsvětí jako já. Procházíme se spolu s kapelou mezi stíny prokletých. Už jsem pochopil a je to díky této desce, že se kruh uzavřel. Koloběh života a smrti, odehrává se přede mnou při poslechu jako černobílý film. Bledé tváře utopenců, spálené obličeje uhořelých, čerstvě otevřené rakve prokletých. Troufám si tvrdit, že se deska opravdu velmi povedla. Budete zaživa pohřbeni, zničeni a zakopáni několik metrů pod zem. Líbí se mi způsob, jakým jsou songy napsány, jak zní, jak mi kolují jako nějaký prudký jed v žilách. Dánové nahráli symfonii o několika dějstvích. Je ošklivá, chladná, černá a podmanivá jako opuštěná márnice. Ožívají v ní dávno mrtvá těla. Tančí na vlastních hrobech. Probudili je STRYCHNOS. Svými melodiemi, náladami. Jsou jako nějaké starodávné kouzlo, které když vyřknete nahlas, bude vám umožněno nahlédnout na onen svět. Říká se, že když někdo zemře, v jeho blízkosti se narodí někdo další. I've always liked music that can be said to have been made when encountering the undead. I put Denmark's STRYCHNOS among my demons back in 2011 when they released their EP "Undead Unsouls Unbound".
The gentlemen continue their morbid work this year. Once again, it is an explosive blend of death metal, black metal with heavy influence. Just turn on the play and you will immediately find yourself several meters underground. Pus drips down the walls, everything smells like decomposing bodies and rats are waiting for the next song. Death is the only certainty!
"A Mother's Curse" is an amazing record. The music is perhaps best characterized by the chilling motif on the cover, which is based on Danish sculptor Niels Hansen Jacobsen's 1892 sculpture "Death and Mother". Add a great cold, massive sound and you'll be lost in the underworld like me. We walk with the band through the shadows of the damned. I've come to understand and it's because of this record that the circle has come full circle. The cycle of life and death, happening in front of me while listening like a black and white movie. The pale faces of the drowned, the burned faces of the charred, the freshly opened coffins of the damned. I dare say that the record was very good indeed. You will be buried alive, destroyed and buried several metres underground. I like the way the songs are written, the way they sound like some violent poison in my veins. The Danes have recorded a symphony of several acts. It's ugly, cold, black and compelling like an abandoned morgue. It brings to life long-dead bodies. They dance on their own graves. They've been awakened by fear. With their melodies, their moods. They're like some ancient spell that, if spoken aloud, will give you a glimpse of the other world.
