Až jednou dojdeš na konec, až jednou skončí tvoje cesta, tak se rozpadneš v prach. Rozplyneš se v temnotě. A nebo budeš proklet a tvoje duše bude navěky bloudit mezi naším a oním světem. Určitě často přemýšlíš, stejně jako já, co si s sebou vezmeš za muziku. Čím jsem starší, tím mám víc jasno. MACERATION a jejich debut "A Serenade of Agony" z roku 1992 rozhodně nebude chybět v mé diskografii. Pamatuji si, že mě tenkrát album doslova uhranulo.
Uplynulo dlouhých třicet let. Svět se změnil, spousta mých kamarádů již není mezi námi. Muzika zůstala. Byl jsem hodně zvědavý, zda mě návratová letošní deska také tolik rozdrásá. Poslouchal jsem novinku v různých náladách, v odlišné denní i noční době a neustále se k ní vracel. Ten starodávný feeling, černá a temná jiskra tam pořád je. "It Never Ends..." je záležitostí pro všechny pamětníky, ale i pro fanoušky, kteří rádi tráví svůj čas ve stínech.
Ano, MACERATION jsou zpět v plné síle. S Danem Swanö za mikrofonem. Se zvukem z Unisound studia, s obalem, pod kterým je podepsán Ola Larsson. Pánové si dali hodně záležet na tom, aby proběhl jejich comeback ve velkém stylu. Pro mě osobně je ale hlavní to, že jsem dostal poctivou porci velmi kvalitního death metalu ze staré školy. Který je ale zároveň opravdu svěží a skvěle se poslouchá. Není to jenom obyčejný výlet do starých časů, u kterého si fanoušci pokývají spokojeně hlavou, ale nekompromisní divoká jízda přímo do pekla. Jakoby kapela sbírala dlouhé roky ty nejlepší nápady a pak je pod tlakem vypálila do skladeb. Songy mě řežou a zadírají se mi hluboko do mozku. V devadesátých letech jsem si vždy při poslechu podobných nahrávek připadal jako bych se procházel podzemím. Vše se mi spolu s "It Never Ends..." vrátilo. Všechno to nadšení, odhodlání, popraskané rakve, zombie tančící v šílených mosh-pitech. Jako bych se spolu se skupinou procházel po starých pohřebištích, navštěvoval ty nejkrásnější kobky a rozprávěl v nich s nemrtvými. Nevíme dne ani hodiny. Čas nám utíká a mnohdy jej trávíme zcela zbytečně. Pojďte se spolu se mnou zavřít do plesnivých katakomb. Podávat se bude dobré pivo, syrové maso a smrtící kov té nejvyšší kvality. MACERATION vám zpřeráží všechny kosti v těle! Legenda je zpět! Ďábelská death metalová pocta temnotě!

MACERATION and their 1992 debut "A Serenade of Agony" will definitely not be missing from my discography. I remember being literally mesmerized by the album back then.
Thirty long years have passed. The world has changed, many of my friends are no longer with us. The music remains. I was very curious to see if the comeback album this year would tear me up as much. I listened to the new album in different moods, at different times of the day and night, and kept coming back to it. The old-timey feel, the black and dark spark is still there. "It Never Ends..." is an affair for all the memoires, but also for fans who like to spend their time in the shadows.
Yes, MACERATION is back in full force. With Dan Swanö on the microphone. With sound from the Unisound studio, with a cover signed by Ola Larsson. The gentlemen have taken great care to make their comeback in grand style. But for me personally the main thing is that I got a fair portion of very good old school death metal. Which is also really fresh and great to listen to. It's not just an ordinary trip to the old days, with fans shaking their heads in satisfaction, but an uncompromising wild ride straight to hell. It's as if the band has been collecting the best ideas for years and then burning them into songs under pressure. The songs cut and stab deep into my brain. In the 90's I always felt like I was walking through the underground when listening to records like this. Everything with "It Never Ends..." came back. All that enthusiasm, determination, cracked coffins, zombies dancing in crazy mosh-pits. It was like walking through old burial grounds with the band, visiting the most beautiful dungeons and talking to the undead. We don't know the day nor the hour. Time flies by, and often we spend it in vain. Come with me into the musty catacombs. We'll be serving good beer, raw meat and deadly metal of the highest quality. MACERATION will shatter every bone in your body! The legend is back! An evil death metal tribute to darkness!
