Budíš se ze spaní, vyděšený a unavený. Každou noc se to zhoršuje. Prokletý, možná si prokletý. Nikdo neví, kde se berou tvé noční můry. Možná někde v podvědomí. Jsou uloženy hluboko v tvém mozku a pokaždé, když potkáš dobrou hudbu, tak vyplují na povrch jako těla utopenců. Nová deska kapely DREAM UNENDING je hodně pochmurná a více než vhodná pro podzimní sychravé dny.
Není žádným tajemstvím, že se zde sešli dva zkušení muzikanti (Derrick Vella (Tomb Mold) a Justin DeTore (Innumerable Forms). Na našich stránkách jsme se již věnovali jejich předešlé desce "Tide Turns Eternal" (2021) (odkaz na recenzi je dole pod článkem). Letos je novinka ještě víc smutnější, krystalická, démonická. Stačí se jenom nechat unášet. Sledovat řeku Styx a na plno se ponořit do zlých snů.
Vzorem kapele stály smečky jako ANATHEMA, TIAMAT, MY DYING BRIDE, PARADISE LOST, i starších SCEPTICISM. Pánové přidávají navíc spoustu svých nápadů, nálad a vy si tak můžete vychutnat muziku, která se opravdu ztrácí v nekonečných močálech. Hodně často jsem s novinkou cestoval, poslouchal ji uprostřed lesů, v tichém ranním městě, když byly ještě ulice prázdné. Jedná se o k dokonalosti vybroušený diamant. Poslech sice vyžaduje klid a zpočátku i trpělivost, protože jsem se musel nejdříve naladit na stejnou vlnu a atmosféru, ale pak se vše spojilo v jedno. Věčnost, pomíjivost, nicota, krása i ošklivost. "Song of Salvation" se stalo mým stínem, těšil jsem se na každé společné setkání. DREAM UNENDING mají velký dar a talent na to, vytvořit absolutně podmanivé nálady. Chlad, tma, neklid, krvavý déšť za oknem. Napadá mě spousta přirovnání, spíše poetických, ale myslím si, že lepší bude poslouchat. Nechat nahrávku jen tak plynout a uslyšíte sami. You wake up from sleep, scared and tired. It gets worse every night. Cursed, maybe you're cursed. No one knows where your nightmares come from. Maybe somewhere in your subconscious. They're buried deep in your brain and every time you meet good music, they float to the surface like the bodies of drowned men. The new album by DREAM UNENDING is very gloomy and more than suitable for autumn's chilly days.
It's no secret that it brings together two experienced musicians (Derrick Vella (Tomb Mold) and Justin DeTore (Innumerable Forms). We've already covered their previous album "Tide Turns Eternal" (2021) on our site (link to the review is at the bottom of the article). This year the new album is even more mournful, crystalline, demonic. You just have to let yourself drift. Follow the River Styx and fully immerse yourself in bad dreams.
The band was inspired by bands like ANATHEMA, TIAMAT, MY DYING BRIDE, PARADISE LOST, and the older SCEPTICISM. The gentlemen add a lot of their own ideas, moods and you can enjoy music that really gets lost in the endless swamps. I traveled a lot with the new album, listening to it in the middle of the woods, in a quiet morning city, when the streets were still empty. It is a diamond cut to perfection. Listening to it requires calmness and patience at first, as I had to tune in to the same wave and atmosphere, but then everything came together. Eternity, impermanence, nothingness, beauty and ugliness. "Song of Salvation" became my shadow, I looked forward to every encounter together. DREAM UNENDING have a great gift and talent for creating absolutely captivating moods. The cold, the dark, the restlessness, the bloody rain outside the window. I can think of a lot of comparisons, rather poetic ones, but I think it's better to listen. Let the recording just flow and you'll hear for yourself. Maybe you too will be absorbed, swallowed and tangled in the tight web of dreams. You wake from sleep, scared and tired. It gets worse every night. Cursed, maybe you're cursed.
