Tahle rakev ležela dlouho vzadu. Opředena pavučinami na ní padal prach. Přemýšlel jsem, kdo v ní vlastně je, kdo by v ní měl být pohřben. Otevření jsem stále odkládal a udělal jsem chybu. Nemrtvý totiž držel v ruce zbrusu novou desku, prvotinu polských TOUGHNESS. Kapely, která uchopila starý prašivý death metal po svém. Z rakve se ozývaly již dlouhou dobu podivné zvuky. Bylo na čase, aby se peklo vyjádřilo.
Již prvních několik setkání s "The Prophetic Dawn" dopadlo velmi dobře. Pánové sice hrají postaru, tak jak to máme všichni rádi, ale jsou svým způsobem i zajímaví a neotřelí. Rozhodně se nejedná jen o dnes tolik časté obyčejné retro. Naopak. Songy mě přikovaly na zeď. Následné vyvrhnutí mých vnitřností nemusím ani zmiňovat. To je totiž u dobrých nahrávek samozřejmost.
Pokud bychom měli tvorbu polských démonů k někomu přirovnat, musela by určitě zaznít jména jako MORBID ANGEL, DEMILICH, CONVULSE, ROTTREVORE. Na pevných old schoolových základech jsou zde vystavěny morbidní a špinavé kompozice, které musí udělat dobře každému prokletému. TOUGHNESS jsou velmi dobří muzikanti, ale nezapomínají ani na skladbu jako takovou. Základní motivy jsou dobře zapamatovatelné, v textech se zaobírají mytologií a oním světem. Doplňovány jsou pak různé vyhrávky, černo černé nihilistické nálady a samozřejmě smrt, která nesmí na žádném poctivém albu chybět. Jako celek je novinka krutou odpovědí na ozvěny ze záhrobí. Žhne a pálí, drásá a bolí. Jako jehla zabodnutá přímo do mozku. Vše je pak podáváno náležitě plesnivě a hnusně. S parádním zvukem i obalem. V Polsku se probudila další šílená bestie. Je vám doufám jasné, že touží po čerstvé krvi. Nejvíc se mi na nahrávce ale líbí, s jakým nadšením a odhodláním kapela přistupuje ke své práci. Jsou jako staří hrobníci, kteří nejen že perfektně rozumí svému řemeslu, ale stále neztratili naději a snaží se sledovat nové technologie pohřbívání. TOUGHNESS jsou pro mě velkým překvapením, doporučením i nadějí do budoucna. Skvělá deska! Temná, magická, šílená death metalová vize!

This coffin has been sitting in the back for a long time. With cobwebs on it, dust fell. I wondered who was in it, who should be buried in it. I kept putting off opening it, and I made a mistake. The undead was holding a brand new album, the debut of Polish TOUGHNESS. A band that took the old dusty death metal in their own way. Strange sounds were coming from the coffin for a long time. It was time for hell to express itself.
Already the first few meetings with "The Prophetic Dawn" went very well. The gentlemen play the old way, the way we all like it, but they are interesting and fresh in their own way. It is definitely not just the usual retro stuff that is so common nowadays. On the contrary. The songs had me pinned to the wall. I don't even need to mention the subsequent evisceration of my insides. That's a given with good records.
If we had to compare the work of Polish demons to someone, we would have to mention names like MORBID ANGEL, DEMILICH, CONVULSE, ROTTREVORE. On solid old school foundations are built here morbid and dirty compositions that must do good to every damned. TOUGHNESS are very good musicians, but they don't forget the composition itself. The basic motifs are easy to remember, the lyrics deal with mythology and the other world. They are then complemented by various antics, black nihilistic moods and of course death, which must not be missing on any honest album. As a whole, the novelty is a cruel response to the echoes from beyond the grave. It glows and burns, it tears and hurts. Like a needle stuck directly into the brain. And it's all served up in a suitably moldy and nasty way. With great sound and cover art. Another mad beast has awakened in Poland. I hope you know it's out for fresh blood. But what I like most about the record is the enthusiasm and commitment with which the band approaches their work. They're like old undertakers who not only understand their craft perfectly, but still haven't lost hope and keep up with new burial technologies. TOUGHNESS are a great surprise, recommendation and hope for the future. Great album! Dark, magical, insane death metal vision!
