Nůž zabodnutý přímo do břicha, polámané kosti. Smrt v několika smradlavých okamžicích. Nejvíce to připomíná asi válku v zákopech, kde jsou povolena veškerá zvěrstva. Zombie útočí! Zlé a nepředvídatelné. S touhou po krvi a dobré muzice. Zrovna nedávno objevily švédské KATAKOMBA a každý večer tančí na hrobech v jejich rytmu. Svět už nebude takový jako dřív, to je jasná věc, ale na devadesátá léta se tak dobře vzpomíná. Jen si musíte vybírat kapely, které hrají poctivě, od srdce.
Z KATAKOMBA takový pocit mám. Samozřejmě, že nepřinášejí nic nového, ale to snad v dnešní době ani nejde. Dívám se do tmy a čekám na další přízraky. Objeví se s prvním riffem, proříznou mi hrdlo, abych mohl večer také přijít na krvavou seanci. Těším se. Na chlad i temnotu, na popraskané kosti.
KATAKOMBA patří do kategorie kapel, které na to jdou podobným způsobem, jako ENTOMBED, DISMEMBER, NIHILIST, ENTRAILS, INTERMENT. A dělají to velmi dobře. Album je plné momentů, které vás pohřbí a rozsekají na malé kousky. Nebo obráceně, vyberte si. Nejedná se o nic nového, ale pánové zvládají své řemeslo velmi dobře. Proti zvuku, obalu, ani provedení nemám žádných námitek. Jedná se o absolutní underground, o záležitost pro všechny prokleté. Deska musela být nahrávána na starých pohřebištích, v márnicích, opuštěných pitevnách a nebo hluboko pod zemí. Potkává se zde temnota, energie a chlad. Zkrátka ingredience, které máme všichni u tohoto stylu tolik rádi. Pokud vás nebaví poslouchat stále dokola jen stará alba slavných kapel, mohu vám "Katakomba" jen doporučit. Na to, že se jedná o první dlouhohrající album, vše odsýpá jak má. Songy nepostrádají drive a sílu, temnou a totálně černou jiskru. Kývám se do rytmu, beru do rukou lopatu a chystám se všem zombie pomoci. Usnadnit jejich příchod na zem. Aby byl už konečně klid. A hrát nám k tomu budou, jak jinak, KATAKOMBA. Old school Swedish death metalové peklo!

"Katakomba" is an album which respects the basics of style. Moreover, the ability to write a good and crushing songs is added. KATAKOMBA does not fuck with it and it's just fine. I like the band was able to capture the spirit of the nineties on one hundred percent. I hear the impertinence and rebellion here. The undead people dance on their own graves again and the coffins crack under their pressure. Everything is as best as it goes - sound, cover and great devastating ideas. That's how I imagine real true death. The bones crepitate into the rhythm, Death laughs by the silent laugh of the omniscient. This is Swedish death metal exactly according my taste!
KATAKOMBA belongs to the category of bands that go about it in a similar way to ENTOMBED, DISMEMBER, NIHILIST, ENTRAILS, INTERMENT. And they do it very well. The album is full of moments that will bury you and chop you into small pieces. Or the other way around, take your pick. This is nothing new, but the gentlemen master their craft very well. I have no complaints about the sound, the packaging, or the performance. This is the absolute underground, a thing for the damned. The record must have been recorded in old burial grounds, morgues, abandoned autopsy rooms, or deep underground. Darkness, energy and coldness meet here. In short, the ingredients we all love so much about this style. If you are tired of listening to old albums of famous bands over and over again, I can only recommend "Katakomba". For being the first long-playing album, everything is going well. The songs don't lack drive and power, dark and totally black spark. I'm swaying to the rhythm, taking a shovel in my hands and getting ready to help all the zombies. Make it easy for them to come down to earth. To finally be at peace. And they're going to play, of all things, KATAKOMBA. Old school Swedish death metal hell!
