U některých mrtvol může i po několika letech dojít k úniku smradlavé, červené tekutiny z úst. Obzvláště ty, které prodělaly za svého života souchotě, bývají někdy mylně považovány za stále živé. I když, znáte to, záleží na úhlu pohledu. Je to podobné, jako u muziky. O spoustě stylů jsme si už dávno mysleli, že zůstanou navždy pohřbeny několik metrů pod zemí, ale ony znovu vylezou na povrch a zničí vás. Podobný příměr se na slovenskou kapelu BLOODY REDEMPTION více než hodí. Za dobu své desetileté existence vydala pouze jedno album ("Infected Minds" (2017) - odkaz na recenzi je dole pod článkem).

Letos se země zachvěla, ďáblové zatančili další ze svých rituálních tanců a zombie znova vylezly z děr. A touží po čerstvé krvi. Alespoň tak vnímám novinku "Hit to the Gore" já. Je nebývale ostrá, stará a plesnivá, ale i zajímavá. A hlavně! Má v sobě takový ten nakopávající faktor, který uměly jenom staré legendy v devadesátých letech minulého století. V časech, kdy ještě převládaly pohřby do země.

Protože jsem starý pes a protože už nějaké ty oživlé mrtvoly pamatuji, tak musím hrdě konstatovat, že jsem nenalezl na albu žádné slabé místo. Jasně, záleží jako vždy na úhlu pohledu, ale z hlediska zvuku, zaměření, nápadů, obalu, celkového provedení a dalších základních věcí, nelze mít námitek. Musíte samozřejmě rádi a často trávit svůj čas na opuštěných hřbitovech, ale to je snad každému jasné od prvního riffu. Osobně jsem si "Hit to the Gore" zařadil do svého playlistu hlavně proto, protože pánové dokáží napsat songy, které mě baví, drásají mě, rozumím jim. Surové, syrové, s notnou dávkou pradávné patiny, takové jsou skladby na této nahrávce. Pokud je totiž nějaké tělo dlouho pochováno v zemi, ve které nemá možnost se rychle rozkládat, zakonzervuje se. Podobný pocit mám i z BLOODY REDEMPTION. Z novinky na všechny strany cáká zkažená krev, takový ten hnis, který je potřeba, aby vše znělo jak má. A ono zní! Kapele se povedlo namíchat starý, chladně melodický, plesnivý koktejl, který by neměl chybět ve sbírce žádného pravého fanouška stylu. Osloví ale i ostatní. Vždyť, co může být lepšího, než noční výlet mezi hroby? Schválně, poslouchejte pečlivě! Během poslechu "Hit to the Gore" je totiž slyšet tichý šepot nemrtvých. A to je pro mě důkazem, že se jedná o desku, ke které se budu rád a často vracet! Hnilobný death metalový proces!

A lot of styles we thought would stay buried a few feet underground forever, but they come up again and destroy you. A similar analogy is more than appropriate for the Slovak band BLOODY REDEMPTION. This year, the earth trembled, the devils danced another of their ritual dances and the zombies crawled out of their holes again. And they're thirsty for fresh blood. At least that's how I see the new "Hit to the Gore". It's unusually sharp, old and mouldy, but also interesting. And most importantly! It has that kick-ass factor that only the old legends of the 1990s could do. Back in the days when in-ground burials were still prevalent.

Because I am an old dog and because I remember some of the reanimated corpses, I must proudly say that I found no weak spot on the album. Sure, it depends on your point of view as always, but in terms of sound, focus, ideas, cover art, overall production and other basic things, there can be no complaints. Of course, you have to like and often spend your time in abandoned graveyards, but that's probably clear to everyone from the first riff. Personally, I put "Hit to the Gore" on my playlist mainly because the gentlemen can write songs that I enjoy, that move me, that I understand. Raw, brutal, with a certain amount of ancient patina, such are the songs on this record. After all, if a body is buried for a long time in the ground, where it doesn't have a chance to decompose quickly, it becomes preserved. I get a similar feeling from BLOODY REDEMPTION. From the new release, the rotten blood is dripping on all sides, the kind of pus that is needed to make everything sound as it should. And it does! The band has managed to mix an old, coldly melodic, mouldy cocktail that should not be missing in the collection of any true fan of the style. But it will also appeal to others. After all, what could be better than a night trip among the graves? By all means, listen carefully! As you listen to "Hit to the Gore", you can hear the quiet whispers of the undead. And this proves to me that this is a record that I will be happy to come back to often! A rotten death metal process!
