Ave, can you introduce your band to our readers? – When was it founded and what style of music do you play etc.?
H.V: Hello. We are Blood Chalice from Finland and we play uncompromised Black metal.
Where and under what conditions were you recording the new album? Who was in charge of sound, production and mastering?
H.V: The Blasphemous Psalms of Cannibalism was recorded during the winter 2021-2022. Album was recorded by studio live fashion. Meaning that all the instruments were recorded at the same time. This way we managed to get the same feeling as playing live. Teemu Heinola recorded, mixed and mastered the album and V.P was mainly on charge of the production. After The first album it was clear to us we wanted more raw sound than on the first album, and I think the album sounds just the way it was suppose to sound.
How many copies were released and which medium was used for this new edition (CD, digital, vinyl, cassette)?
H.V: We do not concern ourselves with such things. That's labels job.
Who is the author of the lyrics and how were they created and about what do the lyrics deal with?
H.V: On this album P.H is on charge of the lyrics. Although I made some lyrics to The Rise of Iconoclast but trusted P.H to finnish them. Lyrics swirl around worship, blasphemy and hate.
Who created the logo of the band, and who took care of the graphics and the website? What about you and social networks? Do you consider these things important?
H.V: I created the logo back in the day when we started. Album cover was once again conjured by PahaPasi and Layout was made by SG.7. We take turns on managing our social network. Though we do not really care about it too much - I suppose it's a necessary evil.
Which label did you choose for releasing your album and why this label? Are you satisfied by how your label represents you and takés care about you?
H.V: After The first album it was clear that we wanted to change the label. As the previous label did not meet with our expectations. We appreciate the collobration but it was time to move on. As Werewolf Records was intrested on us it was an easy choice to join with them. We are more than pleased so far.
Which bands do you idolise and where do you get your inspiration?
H.V: For me it has always been Beherit. VP.L is probably the biggest Conqueror and Revenge maniac in the world. Of course Blasphemy, Archgoat, Proclamation and Black witchery plays a big role on our music too. Not mention all the other music too - not just Black metal.
Did you send your record to some Labels - which are the labels? How was the response?
H.V: We didn't need to.
How many gigs have you played? Which type of gigs do you prefer, whether it's (clubs or festivals) and which of your performances would you consider as the best?
H.V: Hard to say for sure, but I suppose somewhere around 50? It's always nice to play outside of Finland but then again this years Steelfest was really good.
What about your plans for the future? What do you want to achieve with the band?
H.V: We have some plans about touring but nothing is confirmed yet. For now we have few shows on Finland coming up. Other than playing live - we don't plan toi much. The music comes out naturally when the time is right.
