Když jsme byli mladí kluci a thrash metal zrovna vládl světu, tak jsem měl kamaráda, který snil o tom, že se jednou nechá pochovat v rakvi plné kazet. Odejdou spolu s ním jen kapely, které miluje. Je vám asi jasné, že tenkrát patřili PROTECTOR mezi vyvolené. Vždycky nás na nich fascinovala rebelie, rychlost, neurvalost. Thrash metal ušpiněný smrtí! Sedávali jsme u reproduktorů a diskutovali o každé skladbě, o každém tónu.
Doba se změnila, můj kamarád již dávno paří v mosh-pitu na onom světě. Zůstal jsem z naší party sám a jsem pokaždé vždycky hrozně rád, když vyjde nové album. Přiznávám, že v tomto případě trpím určitou dávkou nostalgie. Jsem na to hrdý. Na to, že jsem fanouškem několik dekád. "Excessive Outburst Of Depravity" jsem si ihned narval pod tlakem do hlavy. A pořád je to tam! Špína, chlad, temnota a hlavně opravdová thrash metalová vichřice!
"Excessive Outburst Of Depravity" je poctivou exhumací pravého thrash metalu. Ať už se na desku podíváte z jakékoliv strany, dostanete vždy ryzí kvalitu. Zvuk, obal, nápady, všechno sedí perfektně na svých místech. Navíc tu máme tradiční - chtěli jste PROTECTOR? Máte ho mít! A to se vším všudy. S roztrhanýma džískama, s touhou vás totálně zničit. Všechno se mi vrací. Vzpomínky, ano, ty poletují stále kolem jako noční můry kolem pouličních lamp. Německá nebo vlastně švédská formace je jako smečka prašivých psů. A jejich novinka nejen, že je dokonalou esencí toho, co mám na tomto stylu rád, ale ještě vás roztrhá na kusy. Pořád si myslím, že thrash metal se musí hrát od srdce. Jinak nemá smysl. A PROTECTOR jej mají zocelené dlouhými roky v undergroundu. Svět kolem stále hoří a my skáčeme z pódia. Zestárli jsme spolu s kapelou a když zajdeme na koncert, tak se mezi skladbami usmíváme. Pro mě jsou tohle hrozně důležité věci. Jsem už starej a někdy hodně unavený. Ale když zazní nahrávky jako "Excessive Outburst Of Depravity", tak si začnu podupávat nohou, mlátit hlavou do zdi a vlije se mi do žil nová energie. Metal v podání PROTECTOR je rychlou jízdou napříč historií. Směřuje samozřejmě (jak jinak) do pekla. A tak si říkám, že chci mít jednou také rakev plnou podobných alb. Ještě je ale čas. Zatím přidávám volume na maximum a pařím jako o život. Thrash metalové tornádo s vysokým obsahem jedu! Kult!

When we were young guys and thrash metal was ruling the world, I had a friend who dreamed of one day getting buried in a coffin full of tapes. Only the bands he loved would go with him. You can probably tell that PROTECTOR was one of the chosen ones back then. We've always been fascinated by their rebellion, their speed, their rambunctiousness. Thrash metal stained with death! We used to sit at the speakers and discuss every song, every note.
Times have changed, my friend has been partying in the mosh pit for a long time. I'm the only one left of our crew and I'm always so happy when a new album comes out. I admit that in this case I suffer from a certain amount of nostalgia. I'm proud of it. I've been a fan for decades. "Excessive Outburst Of Depravity" was immediately shoved into my head under pressure. And it's still there! Dirt, cold, dark and most importantly, a real thrash metal storm!
"Excessive Outburst Of Depravity" is an honest exhumation of true thrash metal. Whichever way you look at the album, you will always get pure quality. The sound, the artwork, the ideas, everything fits perfectly in place. Plus we have the traditional - did you want PROTECTOR? You got it! And with everything. With ripped jeans, with the desire to totally destroy you. It's all coming back to me. Memories, yes, they're still floating around like nightmares around street lamps. The German or Swedish formation is like a gang of mangy dogs. And their new album not only is the perfect essence of what I love about this style, but it will tear you apart. I still think thrash metal has to be played from the heart. Otherwise there's no point. And PROTECTOR have it fortified by years in the underground. The world is still on fire and we're jumping off the stage. We've aged with the band and when we go to a gig we smile between songs. To me, these are terribly important things. I'm old and sometimes very tired. But when records like "Excessive Outburst Of Depravity" come on, I start tapping my foot, banging my head against the wall and new energy pours into my veins. Metal as performed by PROTECTOR is a fast ride through history. Of course, it's heading to hell (how else). And so I think to myself that I want to have a coffin full of similar albums one day. But there is still time. For now, I turn the volume up to maximum and party like hell. Thrash metal tornado with high poison content! Cult!
