Další zbloudilá duše, další člověk, kterého si dostal na správnou stranu. Usmíváš se uprostřed kostela, ale tvůj jazyk je rozeklaný. Nasáváš bolest, když jsou u zpovědi. Za zdmi kláštera zůstane spousta špíny. Zlo má mnoho podob a ty si jej přivedl k dokonalosti. Pod krásnou tváří, která vyzařuje důvěru, se ukrývá bestie. Navíc máš výsledky a vždy plný kostel. Nepočítal si akorát s jednou věcí. Obraz tvojí prokleté duše se postupně promítne do tvých očí. Stane se ze tebe zrůda, která shoří v pekle.
Podobné příběhy mě napadají i při poslechu nové desky dánských veteránů THORIUM. Jejich skladby jsou stejně prokleté, temné a šílené. Kapela datuje svůj vznik do devadesátých let a i když jsou v ní dnes již jiní členové, tak stále hledí do tmy. Novinka je morbidní výpovědí o kruté smrti.
Potkává se zde klasická švédská death metalová škola (DISMEMBER, GRAVE, ENTOMBED) s floridskou tradicí (MORBID ANGEL, DEICIDE). Výsledný koktejl je podáván podchlazený, vždy s kusy zcela shnilého masa. Nutno rovnou napsat, že mi skladby ihned začaly kolovat v žilách jako nějaký prudký jed. Stará poctivá práce je znát z každého tónu. "Danmark" se valí kupředu jako lavina z kamení, kostí a nenávisti. Jako by na mě padala velká těžká zeď, jakoby mi někdo stál po celou dobu poslechu na hrudníku a tlačil mi na srdce kovovou botou. Songy v sobě mají potřebný vztek, nakumulovanou energii. Kněz se zase usmívá a není divu. Ovce jdou na porážku a poslouchají vždy na slovo. Stačí si vybrat. Líbí se mi zvuk, obal, oceňují absolutní nasazení, se kterým ničí kapela všechno v okruhu několika kilometrů. Letos vám THORIUM dali do rukou hodně třeskavou směs. Stačí jen vytáhnout pojistku a všichni věřící najdou konečně svůj klid. Ne, tahle nahrávka vám nedá rozhřešení, ale vezme vás na divoký výlet do starých katakomb. Je určena nejen pro zkušené pamětníky pravé, reálné smrti, ale i pro všechny, kteří věří v poctivé pohřby do země. Dánové se vrátili, aby vás svojí hudbou navěky prokleli. Amen! Similar stories come to mind when I listen to the new album from Danish veterans THORIUM. Their songs are equally cursed, dark and crazy. The band dates back to the nineties and even though there are different members nowadays, they still stare into the darkness. The new album is a morbid testimony to a cruel death.
The classic Swedish death metal school (DISMEMBER, GRAVE, ENTOMBED) meets the Florida tradition (MORBID ANGEL, DEICIDE). The resulting cocktail is served undercooled, always with chunks of completely rotten meat. It must be written straight away that the songs immediately began to circulate in my veins like some violent poison. The old honest work is evident in every note. "Danmark" rolls forward like an avalanche of rocks, bones and hate. It's like a big heavy wall is falling on me, like someone is standing on my chest and pressing on my heart with a metal boot the whole time I'm listening. The songs have a necessary rage in them, an accumulated energy. The priest is smiling again, and no wonder. The sheep go to the slaughter and always listen to the word. You just have to choose. I like the sound, the cover, they appreciate the absolute commitment with which the band destroys everything within a few kilometers. This year THORIUM have given you a very shaky mix. Just pull the fuse and all the faithful will finally find their peace. No, this record won't give you absolution, but it will take you on a wild trip to the old catacombs. It's not only for seasoned remembrancers of true, real death, but also for anyone who believes in honest burials in the ground. The Danes have returned to damn you forever with their music. Amen! A raw death metal mass!
