Ne, mě už nikdo nikdy do kostela nedostane. Věřil jsem hezkým slovům, klaněl se modlám. Všichni mi lhali, všichni se tvářili jako svatí. Jenže opak je pravdou. Pod hezkou slupkou se ukrývá zkažený, shnilý vnitřek. Poslouchám novou desku německých WOUND a o podobných věcech často přemýšlím. Pánové hrají death metal se spoustou blackových prvků. Venku mrzne a kostel je dávno prázdný. Nikdo už nevěří v dobro. Stačí se rozhlédnout kolem sebe.
Ledový zvuk, motivy, které se vám postupně dostanou do hlavy. WOUND si berou inspiraci ze severu a dělají to dobře. Novinka je pestrá, košatá, neklidná, melodická a zároveň si zachovává syrovost a surovost.
Když si poslechnete všechna alba od této kapely, tak zjistíte, že se postupně vyvíjí, má svůj jasný směr. Větší příklon k melodiím oceňuji, mám to takhle stejně nejraději. Jako bych byl ve větru, potácel se tmou, ven za město, pryč od shonu a vřavy. Kolem hřbitova, kde na zdi sedí šedé postavy nemrtvých a rozmlouvají o podobných věcech jako WOUND. Němci mají svůj vlastní výraz, zvuk, parádní obal, myslím, že po formální stránce si nelze na nic stěžovat. To by ale v dnešní době nadprodukce nestačilo. Pro mě je nejdůležitější, že se k nahrávce rád a často vracím. Pokud mám před sebou několik desek z poslední doby, tak si "Serpent Crown" pouštím opravdu s chutí. Má v sobě totiž pověstné a těžko popsatelné chvění, jiskru. Říkejte si tomu, jak chcete, ale staří metalisté jako já vědí své. Je hrozně příjemné hledět do dálky se sluchátky na uších a kráčet do rytmu. Pryč od kostela, pryč od prázdných řečí. Němci dokáží napsat skladby, které hoří jasně a zřetelně. Budete spáleni na popel, uprostřed ledové pustiny. A o tom dobrá muzika přece vždy bývala. O emocích. O nadšení, o odhodlání. O smrti i temnotě. "Serpent Crown" je death metalovým albem, které vás sežehne černým plamenem!

The Germans have their own expression, sound, awesome cover art, I don't think there's anything to complain about formally. But that wouldn't be enough in this day and age of overproduction. The most important thing for me is that I like to come back to the record often. If I have several recent records in front of me, I really enjoy "Serpent Crown". It has a familiar and hard to describe tingle, a sparkle. Call it what you want, but old metalheads like me know their stuff. It's so nice to stare into the distance with headphones on and walk to the beat. Away from the church, away from the empty talk. The Germans can write songs that burn bright and clear. You'll be burnt to ashes in the middle of an icy wasteland. And that's what good music has always been about. Emotion. It's about passion, it's about determination. Death and darkness. "Serpent Crown" is a death metal album that will burn you with black flame!
