Poslouchat "Gore Brigade" je jako pitvat mrtvolu ve značném stádiu rozkladu. Alespoň tak to slyším já. A to hned od začátku, od prvního setkání. Z riffů odkapává zkažená krev, tělo poseté boláky žhne a pálí. Nebude to dlouho trvat a červi jej znovu probudí, nafouknou a vy budete mít možnost se setkat s nemrtvým. Starý poctivý death metal, zahraný od srdce, oproštěn od jakýchkoliv zbytečností. S černou jiskrou, spoustou zajímavých momentů. S trošku "modernějším" čitelnějším zvukem.
A teď mi řekněte, co si vlastně může fanoušek podobných morbidních záležitostí víc přát? Myslím, že asi nic. Drtivé bicí (Jon Skäre - CONSUMPTION, REEK), riffy ostré jako čepel skalpelů připravených na pitvu (Ludvig Johansson - DEFIATORY) a vokál bestie (Jonny Pettersson - BERZERKER LEGION, MASSACRE, WOMBBATH, ASHCLOUD, ROT PIT) - tohle všechno dohromady tvoří celek, který vám vyrve vnitřnosti z těla.
Na nové desce se mi líbí, že z ní cítím absolutní oddanost death metalu. Žádné zbytečnosti nebo nedej Satan umělá preludia, jak je to dnes mnohdy zvykem. Nic takového, jenom špinavá, hnusná smrt. A také spousta popraskaných rakví i probuzených mrtvol. Líbí se mi zvuk, oceňuji i obal, jsem tak nějak se vším spokojený. Nikde nic nepřebývá, nikde nic nechybí a i když je jasné, že kapela nevymýšlí nic nového, tak se "Gore Brigade" opravdu dobře poslouchá. V některých momentech mi připomíná již zmiňované kapely jednotlivých členů, v jiných zase některé projekty Roggy Johanssona. Spousta chladných a temných melodií, mnoho čerstvě exhumovaných hrobů. Nic pro slabé povahy ani čtenáře lesklých módních metalových časopisů. Hudba je zde určena spíš pro všechny prokleté, pro staré prašivé psy, kteří si rádi zavzpomínají na dobu, kdy ještě smrtící kov řezal, jako kosa dámy, se kterou když půjdete, tak už se nikdy nevrátíte. Mám chuť na další pivo a další song. Přidávám hlasitost a jsem najednou někde daleko na severu, v opuštěných kobkách. Přede mnou leží smradlavá mršina. Myslím si, že tahle seance se povedla po všech stránkách. Mokvající, plesnivý death metal z temných katakomb!

Listening to the "Gore Brigade" is like dissecting a corpse in a considerable stage of decay. At least that's how I hear it. And right from the start, from the first meeting. Spoiled blood drips from the riffs, and a body strewn with sores glows and burns. It won't take long and the worms will wake him up again, inflate and you will have the opportunity to meet the undead. Old honest death metal, played from the heart, free from all nonsense. With a black spark, lots of interesting moments. With a slightly "modern" more readable sound.
Now tell me, what more could a fan of similar morbid things want? I think probably nothing. Crushing drums (Jon Skäre - CONSUMPTION, REEK), riffs as sharp as an autopsy scalpel blade (Ludvig Johansson - DEFIATORY) and beast vocals (Jonny Pettersson - BERZERKER LEGION, MASSACRE, WOMBBATH, ASHCLOUD, ROT PIT) - all this together which will snatch your entrails from your body.
On the new record, I like that I feel the absolute devotion to death metal. No need or give Satan artificial preludes, as is often the custom today. Nothing like that, just a dirty, disgusting death. And also a lot of cracked coffins and awakened corpses. I like the sound, I also appreciate the cover, I'm kind of happy with everything. There is nothing left anywhere, nothing is missing anywhere, and even though it is clear that the band is not inventing anything new, the "Gore Brigade" listens really well. In some moments it reminds me of the already mentioned bands of individual members, in others some projects of Roggy Johansson. Lots of cool and dark melodies, many freshly exhumed graves. Nothing for the faint of heart or readers of shiny fashion metal magazines. The music here is intended more for all the cursed, for old dusty dogs who like to remember the time when the deadly metal was still being cut, like a lady's scythe, with which if you go, you will never return. I feel like another beer and another song. I turn up the volume and suddenly I'm somewhere far north, in abandoned dungeons. A stinking carcass lies in front of me. I think this session was successful in all respects. Soaking, moldy death metal from dark catacombs!
