Země je zmrzlá a nálada všech zúčastněných pochmurná. Nikdo nemluví, přesto jako bychom slyšeli tichý šepot. Trvá to dlouho, ale výsledek se nakonec dostaví. Odkrývám jednotlivé vrstvy a vracím se po časové ose zpět. Až do devadesátých let. Hniloba, pach smrti a také nové album kanadských veteránů DECEREBRATION, kteří se letos vrátili, aby nám dali ochutnat pořádnou porci smradlavého masa.
Kapela byla založena v roce 1993 a po dvou demonahrávkách nahrála parádní stejnojmenné album. Po kompilaci "Respawned" (2013) se znovu vrátili (2015), aby před fanoušky stanuli silnější než dřív. Mám rád podobné vykopávky, líbí se mi exhumace v tomto stylu. Země je sice zmrzlá, ale novou desku "Follow the Scars" si neskutečně užívám.
Základem tvorby DECEREBRATION je klasický, tradiční death metal staré školy. Přidávány jsou ale i modernější prvky, chladné melodie a spousta nahrubo nasekané tmy. Nahrávka je velmi dobře zvukově ošetřena. Riffy se mi zařezávají do masa a pálí mě jako rozžhavené železo. Nad obalem se určitě rádi zastavíte a ihned si ho všimnete. Připomíná mi motivy coverů ze starých desek. Velmi dobrá práce! Je slyšet, že pánové nahráli desku s radostí, nadšením, s takovým tím feelingem, který se dle mého nedá naučit. Musíte jej mít v sobě, musíte hudbě věřit. Nakumulovaná energie i melodie se potom přenesou i na nás, na fanoušky a posluchače. "Follow the Scars" se valí kupředu a cokoliv se mu připlete do cesty, tak pohřbí nekompromisně zaživa, rozseká a zničí. Připomíná starý rezavý buldozer, který stál dlouhé roky stranou, aby byl oživen, promazán zkaženou krví a znovu povolán do služby. Na boku má, stejně jako v úvodu zmiňovaná rakev, nápis DECEREBRATION. Přiznám se, že i když prolezu kde jaký temný kout, tak se jedná o moje první setkání s kapelou. Desku si opravdu užívám, probouzí ve mě temné stránky. Jsem moc rád, že se kanadská bestie znovu probudila k životu. "Follow the Scars" klidně označte známkou vysoké kvality! Morbidní death metal exhumovaný ze starých hrobů! Skvěle!

The ground is frozen and the mood of all involved is gloomy. No one speaks, yet we seem to hear a low whisper. It takes a long time, but eventually the result comes. I peel back the layers and go back along the timeline. All the way back to the 1990s. The rot, the smell of death and also the new album from Canadian veterans DECEREBRATION, who returned this year to give us a taste of some stinky meat.
The band was formed in 1993 and after two demos recorded a great album of the same name. After the compilation "Respawned" (2013) they came back again (2015) to stand in front of the fans stronger than before. I like digs like this, I like exhumations in this style. The ground may be frozen, but I'm enjoying the new album "Follow the Scars" immensely.
The basis of DECEREBRATION's work is classic, traditional death metal of the old school. However, more modern elements, cold melodies and a lot of coarsely chopped darkness are also added. The recording is very well sound treated. The riffs cut into my flesh and burn like red-hot iron. You'll be happy to linger over the cover and notice it immediately. It reminds me of cover motifs from old records. Very good work! You can hear that the gentlemen recorded the record with joy, enthusiasm, with that feeling that I think can't be taught. You have to have it in you, you have to believe in the music. The accumulated energy and melody will then be transferred to us, to the fans and listeners. "Follow the Scars" rolls forward and whatever gets in its way, it buries uncompromisingly alive, dismembers and destroys. It's like an old rusty bulldozer that has stood aside for years, only to be revived, greased with tainted blood and called back into service. On its side, like the coffin mentioned in the introduction, it bears the inscription DECEREBRATION. I confess that, even if I crawl into some dark corner, this is my first encounter with the band. I really enjoy the album; it brings out the dark side in me. I'm so glad that the Canadian beast has come to life again. Mark "Follow the Scars" with a high-quality mark! Morbid death metal exhumed from old graves! Well, done!
