Co nastane po smrti nevíme. Ale naše představivost pracuje na plné obrátky. Navštěvujeme hřbitovy a rozmlouváme s mrtvými. Myslíme si, že existuje přechodné období mezi naším a oním světem. Možná ale nakonec jenom shnijeme v zemi a nezůstane po nás vůbec nic. Pár vzpomínek, naši potomci a po talentovaných i nějaký ten odkaz. O slovenskou death metalovou legendu DEHYDRATED strach nemám. Jejich otisk je již dávno jasný a zřetelný. Jsou zapsáni krvavým písmem v knize mrtvých.
Nutno rovnou předeslat, že jsem fanoušek. Takový ten věrný maniak, který má kapelu opravdu rád. Jsem starý pes, kterého nechává chladným většina současné hudební produkce. Raději trávím svůj čas ve stínu, ve starých katakombách a čekám právě na podobné nahrávky, jako je letošní zásek "After the Funeral". Slyším šepot nemrtvých.
DEHYDRATED i na novince citují ze starých death metalových učebnic. Deska je podmanivým výletem do země stínů. Letos mi připadají skladby melodičtější, propracovanější, o nějaký řád temnější, s masivnějším a hutnějším zvukem. Ocitl jsem se zpátky v devadesátých letech minulého století a nadšeně otevírám plesnivou a ztrouchnivělou rakev s názvem kapely. Líbí se mi a vždycky jsem oceňoval jejich přístup. Jsou to neskuteční srdcaři, kteří mají pravý death metal v krvi. Nemusí dávno nikomu nic dokazovat, přesto ze songů cítím takovou tu pradávnou poctivost, která se dle mého nedá naučit. Musíte ji prožít, být součástí Hádovy říše dlouhé roky. I když poslouchám tenhle styl od jeho začátků, stále jsem rád, když vyjdou podobná alba. Oceňuji raději uvěřitelnost, než technické finesy. Rozdíl mezi kremací a pohřbem do země asi všichni chápete. "After the Funeral" je pro mě dokonalou exhumací starých hrobů. Chlad, temnota, popraskané kosti, to jsou věci, o které tu jde. Možná po smrti není vůbec nic a nebo se ocitneme v podobném světě, jaký nám představují právě DEHYDRATED. V močálech nekonečné bolesti, v chladu a mrazu, v krvavé mlze. Skladby jsou velmi dobře napsány, typický Dragonův zpěv je jasným poznávacím znamením. Pánové mi vypálili do mozku další cejch. Nenašel jsem vlastně nic, co by mi vadilo nebo překáželo v tom, abych si "After the Funeral" opravdu užil. Teď už vím, co nastane po smrti. Totální inferno, stejně jako na této desce. Temný death metalový obřad!

Needless to say, I'm a fan. Such a loyal maniac who really likes the band. I'm an old dog that is left cold by most current music production. I prefer to spend my time in the shadows, in old catacombs and waiting for similar recordings as this year's "After the Funeral" jam. I hear the whispers of the undead.
DEHYDRATED quotes from old death metal textbooks as well. The board is a captivating trip to the land of shadows. This year, the songs seem more melodic, more elaborate, a bit darker, with a more massive and dense sound. I found myself back in the nineties and enthusiastically opening a moldy and rotten coffin called the band. I like them and I have always appreciated their approach. They are incredible heartthrobs who have real death metal in their blood. They don't have to prove anything to anyone for a long time, yet I feel such an ancient honesty from the songs that I can't learn. You must live it, be part of the Serpent Realm for many years. Even though I've been listening to this style since its inception, I'm still happy when similar albums come out. I appreciate the credibility rather than the technical finesse. You all probably understand the difference between cremation and burial in the ground. "After the Funeral" is for me a perfect exhumation of old graves. Cold, darkness, cracked bones, these are the things at stake. Maybe after death there is nothing at all or we will find ourselves in a world similar to what DEHYDRATED represents us. In the swamps of endless pain, in the cold and frost, in the bloody mist. The songs are very well written, the typical Dragon's singing is a clear hallmark. Gentlemen have fired more marks into my brain. I didn't actually find anything that bothered or prevented me from really enjoying "After the Funeral". Now I know what will happen after death. Total inferno, just like on this CD. Dark death metal ceremony!
