Ave, can you introduce your band to our readers? – When was it founded and what style of music do you play etc.?

Kyle - Decrepisy was formed in the winter of 2019. We play Regressive Death Metal.

Where and under what conditions were you recording the new album? Who was in charge of sound, production and mastering?

Kyle - We recorded Emetic Communion in the winter of 2020 at Toadhouse Recording which is in in our rehearsal space building. It was recorded during the lock down in Portland Oregon of the 2020 Covid plague. Our drummer Charles Koryn is an engineer there and he recorded the album. We sent it to long time friend Greg Wilkinson at Earhammer to mix and master it. He defiled the fuck out of it, seriously killed it. Thanks Greg!

How many copies were released and which medium was used for this new edition (CD, digital, vinyl, cassette)?

Kyle - 300 vinyl, 100 black and 200 gold. 300 tapes, 100 from Seed of Doom in the Netherlands and 200 from Life After Death in the US. 1,000 CD’s for Chaos Records in Mexico.

Who is the author of the lyrics and how were they created and about what do the lyrics deal with?

Kyle - I write the lyrics. They are about the darker parts of my psyche, the shadow parts, what lives in the unconscious. Genetic trauma, womb betrayal, social conditioning, the body as a cage and an altar, grief, loss, sorrow, rot and decay as a spiritual practice, exploring the unknown, nameless, formless aspects of what I am through decomposing the body in meditation, the murder and torture of animals for profit being like the cannibalism of children, physically, psychically and spiritually.

Who created the logo of the band, and who took care of the graphics and the website? What about you and social networks? Do you consider these things important?

Kyle - David Mikkelsen of Undergang, Ink Lesions drew the logo. I drew the album cover and some other graphics. Steven van Asch from Seed of Doom did the lay out and back cover collage of defiled religious statues. Social media is very important for connecting with people and ultimately advertising. Especially during Covid where no one is touring.

Which label did you choose for releasing your album and why this label? Are you satisfied by how your label represents you and takés care about you?

Kyle - Jonny and Charlie were working with Steven at Seed of Doom for their Thanamagus release and they sent him some rehearsal tracks of Decrepisy and he was into it. We decided it would be best to co-release it with a US label to bring down the shipping costs for people in different countries. Life After Death in the US was interested and Chaos Records in Mexico wanted to do the CD’s. Its been really cool in my opinion, between all 3 labels and us promoting it the vinyl is almost sold out. Its getting really positive and in depth reviews. We are planning to have exclusive shirt designs for each label.

Which bands do you idolize and where do you get your inspiration?

Kyle - Some bands that I’m into are Rottrevore, Grave, Convulse, Abhorrence, Slayer, Fetid, Mortiferum, Cianide, Christian Death, Rudimentary Peni, Wolf Pack and Driller Killer.

How many gigs have you played? Which type of gigs do you prefer, whether it's (clubs or festivals) and which of your performances would you consider as the best?

Kyle - Decrepisy has only played once live due to Covid. It was a live stream with 5 friends watching on Hallows Eve 2020. We are booking a west coast tour of the US and Mexico in Nov.

What about your plans for the future? What do you want to achieve with the band?

Kyle - make more albums and tour. Rot the World!
