Táhnout za sebou přes třicet let vůz plný prašivých kostí je samo o sobě úctyhodné. Mám pro TORTHARRY dlouhodobě velkou slabost. Je mi úplně jasné, že už asi nikdy nevydají převratnou desku, která zamíchá řekněme evropským metalovým děním, ale to po těchto starých psech ani nechci. Požaduji, přeji si, vždy hlavně dobré řemeslo, poctivý zvuk a žádné stylové úhybné manévry.
"Altars of Ignorance" je desátým řadovým albem a nutno rovnou napsat, že povedeným. Pokud se vám death metal made in TORTHARRY také líbí, myslím, že budete spokojeni i tentokrát. Poctivý, surový materiál starého střihu, obal tradičně z dílny mistra Jaromíra Deathera Bezruče, nahrávání v The Barn Recording Studiu. A výsledek? Myslím, že v rámci žánru i mimo něj, velmi dobré. Jen nesmíte hledat dnes tolik populární věci jako progresi, stylové kotrmelce, moderní prvky a změny. Pánové jsou tradicionalisti a je to dle mého jenom dobře. Proč také hrát něco, co nejde od srdce?
TORTHARRY mají zkrátka svůj styl, který (jak už tomu tak bývá) někdo zbožňuje a jiný moc nemusí. To je úplně v pořádku, ale jedno se kapele rozhodně upřít nedá. Energie. Já zkrátka tenhle valivý death metal ve stylu JUNGLE ROT, DYING FETUS, CANNIBAL CORPSE, MISERY INDEX můžu a to obzvlášť naživo, kdy je vše vždy ještě špinavější, drsnější. "Altars of Ignorance" není albem, které se zapíše navěky do historie, ale je ukováno z pravého českého železa. Kapele to pořád pěkně sype a já mám při poslechu nejčastěji pocit, že bych chtěl skočit přímo do mosh-pitu. Dočkáme se klasických, typických vykosťovacích riffů, ale i temnějších, chladnějších pasáží. Letos se mi navíc líbí, že jsou songy víc "přemýšlivé", dozrávají postupně, ale o to větší trvanlivost pro mě mají. A hlavně, pamatuji si je! Jasně, že TORTHARRY neusednou na trůn a nezískají jednu z mnoha hudebních cen, ale mě je na nich sympatické (a vždycky bylo), že si jdou svojí cestou. Myslím si, že se tahle morbidní oslava třiceti let povedla. Hodně záleží, co od hudby očekáváte. Pokud jako já upřímnost, opravdovost a ryzost, tak bedlivě poslouchejte. Zde totiž více než u jiných platí - DEATH METAL FOREVER!

Towing a car full of dusty bones for over thirty years is in itself respectable. I have had a great weakness for TORTHARRY for a long time. It is quite clear to me that they will probably never release a revolutionary record which will make a “boom” in European metal scene, but I don't even want that from these old dogs. I demand, I wish, always mainly good craft, honest sound and no stylish evasive manoeuvres.
"Altars of Ignorance" is the tenth album in a row and it is necessary to write straight away that it is a good album. If you also like death metal made by TORTHARRY, I think you will be satisfied this time as well. Honest, raw material of old style, cover traditionally from the workshop of master Jaromír Deather Bezruč, recording in The Barn Recording Studio. And the result? I think within and outside the genre, very good. Just don't look for so many popular things today as progression, stylish somersaults, modern elements and changes. The gentlemen are traditionalists, and I think that's just fine. Why also play something that does not go from the heart?
TORTHARRY simply have their own style, which (as usual) someone adores and others don't. That's perfectly fine, but you definitely can't deny the band one thing. Energy. In short, I can use this rolling death metal in the style of JUNGLE ROT, DYING FETUS, CANNIBAL CORPSE, MISERY INDEX, especially live, when everything is always even dirtier, rougher. "Altars of Ignorance" is not an album that will make a signature in history forever, but it is forged from real Czech iron. The band still spills it up nicely and when I listen it I most often feel that I would like to jump right into the mosh-pit. We will see classic, typical boning riffs, but also darker, cooler passages. In addition, this year I like that the songs are more "thoughtful", they mature gradually, but they have an even more durability for me. And most importantly, I remember them! Of course, TORTHARRY won't sit on the throne and win one of the many music awards, but I like them (and it always has been) that they're going their own way. I think this morbid celebration of thirty years has worked. A lot depends on what you expect from the music. If, like me - truthfulness and purity, then listen it closely. This is more true here than with others - DEATH METAL FOREVER!
