A few questions - interview with death metal band from Finland - PANSSARITUHO.

Ave, can you introduce your band to our readers? – When was it founded and what style of music do you play etc.?

-Panssarituho was formed by Extermus (guitar and vocals) and Invicto (bass). Year was 2019 and they were drinking and blasting their favorite bands.

They decide that world will need more bands, that deliever hard and and brutal oldschool deathmetal with thrash and punk attitude.

Macellarius, old friend of Extermus jumped on the drums. And so Panssarituho was born.

Where and under what conditions were you recording the new album? Who was in charge of sound, production and mastering?

-All the recordings for the new album were made in our own "studio" in a small sauna cottage in Toijala city. All the recordings were handled by ourselves.

Tracks were played oldschool way. Drums and guitars and then bass line and guitar solos. And after that Extermus recorded vocals in a car.

Macellarius was the main producer of the album, and he did most of the mixing and mastering with the help of Extermus. Our goal was to make it sound the way we sound live.

We don’t want to sound like overproduced contemporary music We don’t want to use triggers or plugins. We want the sound to come from the musician and the instrument.

And we are quite happy with the output.

How many copies were released and which medium was used for this new edition (CD, digital, vinyl, cassette)?

-We have released the album only digitally for many streaming platforms. But we are also thinking of making a cassette edition in the future

Who is the author of the lyrics and how were they created and about what do the lyrics deal with?

-The lyrics are mainly written by Extermus. At first the songs were written in english, but after a while we changed the language to finnish, because it sounded more harsh and brutal. The lyrics are mainly from war and violence because those are the most vicious things in the world.

We wanted oldschool lyrics, because no one wants to hear some profound ideology or other bullshit.

Who created the logo of the band, and who took care of the graphics and the website? What about you and social networks? Do you consider these things important?

-Our logo is made and designed by Macellarius. Cover art and other graphics on social media are made by Extermus. As well as videos. We try to be active on social media and create content for fans.

Social media is a great way to stay in touch with fans. If someone likes our music and follows us on social media we will appreciate it a lot and try to produce content for them.

We are not professionals on social media, but we try our best.

Which label did you choose for releasing your album and why this label? Are you satisfied by how your label represents you and takés care about you?

-We released the album as self-published. We tried to get in touch with the record labels. We sent demos to many different locations, but this time they were not interested.

So we decided to do everything ourselves. But we want to name one label. Big thanks to From the depths entertainment. Who took us to their roster and promoted us.

Which bands do you idolise and where do you get your inspiration?

-Many bands could be put on this list but perhaps the most impressive for us is Finnish band Impaled Nazarene. It is our youth's favorite bands.

Impaled Nazarene attitude and rage and explosive guitar riffs and machine gun drums inspire a lot. And the vocals are awesome.

Also Morbid angel, Slayer, Obituary and ofcourse Deicide are big influences on us.

Did you send your record to some Labels - which are the labels? How was the response?

-We sent demos and also finished songs to many different labels. But this time they were not interested.

How many gigs have you played? Which type of gigs do you prefer, whether it's (clubs or festivals) and which of your performances would you consider as the best?

-We have only played one live gig at the Club and one streaming gig. The biggest reason for this has been covid-19. We have now booked a couple of club gigs for the rest of the year.

But let's see what the covid situation is then and if the clubs are open.

What about your plans for the future? What do you want to achieve with the band?

-Next we try to get to the gigs and next year there are again recording sessions. Because extermus has composed more new brutal songs.

How and where can your fans contact you? Can you provide some contact information?

-Fans can get in touch on our social media platforms, facebook and instagram and email.

Thanx for the interview.

Thanx.
