Jakoby mi někdo podal jed. Připadám si jako v románech pana Kafky. Pomalu se měním, stávám se démonem, který spí v každém z nás. Možná jsem neměl na tuhle okultní seanci chodit. Původně jsem ji bral jako legraci, něco zajímavého, co mě vytrhne ze stereotypu. Jenže teď tu stojím a nevím, co je pravda a co už lež. Kolem mě se pohybují v divokých rytmech stíny. Jed mi proniká pomalu do žil. Stejně jako nová deska britských WODE.
Postavy v kápích, zaříkávání, ale hlavně hudba, která vás jako nějaká zlá mantra přenese na onen svět. Postupně, se skvělým zvukem, obalem i spoustou zajímavých motivů. WODE se pohybují někde na hranici mezi blackem a death metalem. A činí tak s elegancí starých mistrů.
Jednou tu po nás zůstane jenom černá, krvavá stopa. Alespoň takový pocit jsem získal poslechem novinky "Burn In Many Mirrors". Ve skladbách je obsaženo obrovské množství temnoty, chladu a beznaděje. Líbí se mi hrozně způsob, jakým jsou skladby vystavěny. Gradují, chvějí se, jsou po okraj naplněny temnou energií, načerpanou snad někde v záhrobí nebo v nekonečném vesmíru. Album je na jednu stranu drásavé, neklidné, nenechá vás ani na chvilku klidu, na druhou se ale velmi dobře poslouchá. Jedná se přesně o ten druh black death metalové seance, kde se potkávají klasické, tradiční vlivy z přelomu osmdesátých a devadesátých let s novými prvky a přístupem. Navíc songy působí jako rezavé hřeby, které vám někdo postupně zatlouká do hlavy. Najednou jsem opravdu ve starém, dávno opuštěném kostele a pouštějí mi žilou. Jakoby mě někdo zahalil do černého pláště, podal mi kostnatou ruku a stáhl mě do temných hlubin. Topím se, lapám po dechu, přidávám hlasitost, měl bych si rozdrásat obličej do krve, ale není na to čas, musím nahrávku stále poslouchat dokola. Black death metalová okultní seance všech prokletých!

Characters in hoods, incantations, but mainly music that will transport you to the other world like some evil mantra. Gradually, with great sound, cover and lots of interesting motifs. WODE are somewhere on the border between black and death metal. And they do it with the elegance of old masters.
One day, only a black, bloody trail will remain. At least that's is a feeling which I got by listening to the new "Burn In Many Mirrors" album. The songs contain a huge amount of darkness, cold and hopelessness. I really like the way the songs are built. They graduate, tremble, are filled to the brim with dark energy, perhaps drawn somewhere in the graveyard or in the infinite universe. On the one hand, the album is harrowing, restless, it won't leave you for a moment's peace, but on the other hand, is very well listenable. This is exactly the kind of black death metal session where classic, traditional influences from the turn of the eighties and nineties meet with new elements and approach. In addition, the songs look like rusty nails, which someone gradually beats into your head. Suddenly I'm really in an old, long-abandoned church and they're cutting my veins. It was as if someone had wrapped me in a black cloak, held out my bony hand, and pulled me into the dark depths. I'm drowning, gasping for breath, turning up the volume, I should scratch my face with blood, but there's no time for that, I still have to listen to the recording again and again.
