Když vystoupil z mlhy, vyděsil mě k smrti. Očekával jsem ho. Démona temnoty. Už jsme se potkali několikrát v mých zlých snech. Pokaždé měl v ruce nůž od krve a říkal mi, že jsem další na řadě. Tak takhle vypadá moje smrt? Představoval jsem si ji tedy jinak. Jako krásnou paní s jedovatým úsměvem. Jenže realita je krutější, ošklivější, syrovější. Stejně jako doom death metal italských MORTICULA REX. Setkáváme se v podzemí již podruhé a opět se jedná o tajemnou seanci pro vyvolávání duší zemřelých.
Pro pomalé melodie musíte mít talent, jinak vám je nikdo věřit nebude. Italové jsou uvěřitelní, to je pro mě nejen v tomhle stylu jeden z nejdůležitějších aspektů. Novinka "Autumnal Rites" je drásavým poselstvím z onoho světa. Zprávou ze záhrobí, u které umrznete a budete prokleti.
Hudba MORTICULA REX je opět postavena na pevných death a doomových základech. Album je ošetřeno studeným zvukem, songy jsou dlouhé, shnijí vám doslova v rukou. Občas na povrch vypluje inspirace klasickým metalem a skladby dostanou další zajímavý rozměr. Netřeba kapelu k někomu přirovnávat, lepší je poslouchat. Sednout si do rohu pokoje, zhasnout všechna světla a nechat na sebe desku působit. Najednou jsem vtažen do pochmurného děje, jsem pozván na panychidu. Truchlíme za dalšího dobrého člověka, který právě odešel. Mými společníky jsou démoni ze snů a album "Autumnal Rites". Užíváme si jednotlivé pasáže, oceňujeme nejen přístup kapely, ale i celkový dojem, který je jedním slovem vynikající. Když nahrávku poslouchám, tak mám chuť na další dlouhý výlet nekonečnými chodbami podzemí. Smrt, život, strach, smutek. Z hudby je cítím. Jsou hmatatelné, uvěřitelné. Album jakoby bylo opředeno záhadami a obsahovalo v sobě magickou přitažlivost. Musel jsme si jej pouštět stále dokola. Ztrácím se v mlze. A teď už mě prosím nechte. Potřebuji klid. Klid na "Autumnal Rites". Death doom metalový obřad! Velmi dobře!

The music of MORTICULA REX is again built on solid death and doom foundations. The album is treated with a cold sound, the songs are long, they literally rot in your hands. Sometimes the inspiration of classic metal comes to the surface and the songs get another interesting dimension. No need to compare a band to someone, it's better to listen. Sit in the corner of the room, turn off all the lights and let the board act on you. Suddenly I'm drawn into a gloomy story, I'm invited to a funeral. We mourn another good man who has just left. My companions are the demons of dreams and the album "Autumnal Rites". We enjoy the individual passages, we appreciate not only the approach of the band, but also the overall impression, which is excellent in one word. When I listen to the recording, I feel like another long trip through the endless corridors of the underground. Death, life, fear, sadness. I can feel them from the music. They are tangible, believable. The album seemed to be shrouded in mystery and contained a magical appeal. We had to play it over and over again. I'm getting lost in the fog. And now please leave me. I need peace. Calm down to "Autumnal Rites". Death doom metal ceremony! Very good!
