Poprvé jsem se probudil před několika měsíci. Uprostřed noci, venku pršelo a mraky byly nízko. Měl jsem divný pocit, že mám v břiše kus něčeho zlého. Často se mi o tom zdálo, ale zatím jsem se vždy probudil. Rostlo to ve mě, jako ošklivý vřed. Ztrácel jsem sílu a lékaři jen nevěřícně kroutili hlavou. Nenašli ve mě nic. Vůbec nic. Přesto jsem se ztrácel. Jako bych se topil, dusil ve špinavé vodě. Těkavá bolest sílila. Teď už vím. Nastal čas. Sestupuji po dlouhých schodech. Do hlubin nicoty. Na cestu jsem si vzal novou desku finských GHASTLY.
Album zní jako jedovaté našeptávání démonů. Kroutí mi vnitřnostmi, vlezlo mi do mozku a připomíná tisíce jehel, které jsou mi zabodnuty přímo na ty nejcitlivější místa. Při poslechu jsem fascinován atmosférou, která do mě ihned zasekla svoje drápy. V žilách mi proudí zkažená krev.
Už jenom pohled na skvělý obal (Riikka Pesonen) napovídá, že se na desce bude odehrávat syrový, bažinatý death metal s ledovým výrazem. Užívám si i chladný, drásavý zvuk. "Mercurial Passages" ale není jen klasickým death metalem, nalezneme zde i odkazy na psychedelické pasáže. Dodávají desce na zajímavosti, na uvěřitelnosti a podporují temné a magické nálady. Mám pocit, že vytrhávám ze země i své krvavé kořeny. Album je bolestivou poutí skrz černou mlhu. Kolem se válí kusy zkaženého masa. Jsem přímo uprostřed a konečně vím, odkud mám spálené vnitřnosti. Hudba v podání GHASTLY vás prokleje, nakazí zákeřnou chorobou. Doporučuji poslouchat v tichu a nejlépe někde ve starých katakombách. Motivy mě postupně zhypnotizovaly, proklely, pohřbily zaživa. Riffy jsou zdánlivě neklidné, těkavé, ale jako celek drží nahrávka perfektně pohromadě. Má v sobě prastarou sílu, energii posbíranou při umírání hříšníků. Platí zde více, než kde jinde, že slova nestačí, lepší je přidat hlasitost, zabloudit v lese a naplno si užívat jednotlivé harmonie. Odkrývám jednotlivé vrstvy, bolest ve mě tepe a pálí. Mrazivý death metal, který ve vás zanechá hnisavý otisk! Vynikající deska pro všechny nemrtvé!

I first woke up a few months ago. In the middle of the night, it was raining outside and the clouds were low. I had a weird feeling that I had a piece of something bad in my stomach. I often dreamed about it, but so far I have always woken up. It grew in me, like an ugly ulcer. I was losing strength and the doctors just shook my head in disbelief. They found nothing in me. Nothing. Still, I got lost. It was as if I were drowning, suffocating in dirty water. The volatile pain intensified. I know now. It's time. I go down the long stairs. To the depths of nothingness. I took a new record of Finnish GHASTLY on the trip.
The album sounds like a poisonous whisper to demons. It twists my guts, crawled into my brain, and reminds me of thousands of needles that are stuck right in the most sensitive places. As I listen, I am fascinated by the atmosphere that immediately stuck my claws into me. Spoiled blood flows in my veins.
Just a look at the great cover (Riikka Pesonen) suggests that raw, swampy death metal with an icy expression will take place on the record. I also enjoy the cool, harrowing sound. "Mercurial Passages" is not only classic death metal, we can also find links to psychedelic passages here. They add interest to the board, to the believability and support dark and magical moods. I feel like I'm pulling my bloody roots out of the ground. The album is a painful pilgrimage through the black mist. Pieces of rotten meat are rolling around. I'm right in the middle and I finally know where my burned entrails are from. Music performed by GHASTLY will curse you, infect you with an insidious disease. I recommend listening in silence and preferably somewhere in the old catacombs. The motives gradually mesmerized me, cursed me, buried me alive. The riffs are seemingly restless, volatile, but as a whole they hold the record perfectly together. He has an ancient strength, the energy gathered in the death of sinners. It is more true here than anywhere else that words are not enough, it is better to add volume, get lost in the forest and fully enjoy the individual harmonies. I uncover the individual layers, the pain in my heart beats and burns. Frosty death metal that will leave you with a festering imprint! An excellent board for all the undead!
