Bouřka v noci vždy pročistí vzduch. Vyběhneš ven a těšíš se na studený déšť. Nastavíš tvář a čekáš. Odpočítáváš sekundy od blesku až po hřmění. Jenže to není bouřka, ale další bombardování. Elektrizující vzduch prořízne zvuk sirén. Běžíš do nebližšího sklepa a máš šílený strach. Tentokrát to není planý poplach, všechno kolem hoří. Mrtvá těla, ze sutin vylézají ranění. Nikdy si nepochopil, proč tahle válka začala. Touha po moci, po penězích? Je to jako vždycky, jsme nepoučitelní.
Válečný death metal se dá hrát mnoha způsoby. MEMORIAM patří mezi smečky, které dokáží atmosféru bojiště doslova zhmotnit. Poslouchám novinku "To the End" stále dokola a znovu se přede mnou odehrávají příběhy z války, které zažili mí předci. Pokaždé, když vyprávěli o bombardování, měli velký strach. Bombardér znovu vzlétl.
Dívám se na dokumenty ze starých bojišť a poslouchám u toho novinou desku "To the End". MEMORIAM pokračují tam, kde minule přestali. Ve starosvětském, klasickém a tradičním valivém death metalu, který jim koluje v krvi. Obal od Dana Seagraveho je opět úchvatný, ihned jsem si musel objednat tričko. Album je ošetřeno masivním, hutným a chladným zvukem (Russ Russell). Náhodě nebylo ponecháno nic a vy se tak můžete nechat přenést přímo doprostřed boje. Britové drží svoji death metalovou zástavu opět hrdě vztyčenou a dělají čest svému jménu i předchůdcům (BOLT THROWER, BENEDICTION). Nová deska pro mě ale není jen skvěle odvedeným řemeslem, nahrávka má v sobě pověstnou jiskru navíc, je heavy, drásá a pálí, žhne a zároveň je dle mého temnější, než předchozí počiny. Odehrává se převážně ve středním tempu a je neskutečně návyková. Jsem moc rád, že má člověk ještě v dnešní době nějaký záchytný bod ve vesmíru, na který je spolehnutí. Vždycky se mi líbilo, jakým způsobem MEMORIAM píší skladby. Sází na dobrý riff, na poctivost, jsou plně oddáni své věci. Sirény znovu křičí do ticha noci, z černých mraků právě vylétl další bombardér. Utíkám do krytu a kolem hoří země. Peklo opravdu existuje. Zničující, chladný death metal staré školy, který je definicí války!

But it's not a storm, it's another bombing. Electrifying air cuts through the sound of sirens. You run to the nearest cellar and you're madly scared. This time it's not a false alarm, everything around is on fire. Dead bodies, wounded come out of the rubble. He never understood why this war began. The desire for power, for money? It's like always, we're unteachable.
War death metal can be played in many ways. MEMORIAM is one of the bands that can literally materialize the atmosphere of the battlefield. I listen to the new "To the End" over and over again, and the stories of war that my ancestors experienced take place in front of me again and again. Every time they talked about the bombing, they were very scared. The bomber took off again.
I watch documents from old battlefields and listen to the new album "To the End". MEMORIAM continue where they left off last time. In old-world, classical and traditional rolling death metal, which circulates in their blood. The cover by Dan Seagrave is breath-taking again, I had to order a T-shirt immediately. The album is treated with a massive, dense and cold sound (Russ Russell). So you can be transported right into the middle of the fight. The British keep their death metal flag proudly raised again and honour their name and their predecessors (BOLT THROWER, BENEDICTION). But the new record is not just a great craft for me, the record has the famous extra spark in it, it is heavy, scratchy and burning, it burns and at the same time it is, in my opinion, darker than previous works. It takes place mostly at a medium tempo and is incredibly addictive. I am very glad that people still have a clue in the universe that can rely on today. I've always liked the way MEMORIAM writes songs. They bet on a good riff, on honesty, they are fully committed to their matter. The sirens are screaming again in the silence of the night, another bomber has just shot out of the black clouds. I run to the shelter and the ground is burning around me. Hell really does exist. The devastating, cold old death metal that is the definition of war!
