Zrovna jsem se díval v televizi na dokument o tom, jak je naše planeta zničená. Na břehu moře stála malá dívka. Po kolena v odpadcích. Smutné oči zvířat, v protikladu s jediným pravým predátorem na světě. Člověk, někdy tolik přemýšlivý, rozumný, chytrý. Jindy zrůda, toužící po moci. Proč mám poslední dobou pocit, že vítězí ti špatní? Death metal poslouchám přes třicet let a čím dál častěji jsou my příjemnější staré katakomby, než nová krematoria.

Dánští BAEST patří k mladým, talentovaným kapelám, kterým se daří kombinovat starý smrtící feeling s modernějším zvukem a nápady. Jejich nová deska může být klidně soundtrackem k apokalypse, která již dávno začala. Pamatuji si koncert v našem městě, kde hráli pro pět lidí. Po pár měsících oslovili tisíce fanoušků na velkém festivalu. Nedivím se, málokdo má takový talent na to, složit chytlavé, syrové melodie, jako právě BAEST.

"Necro Sapiens" je brutálnější, surovější deskou, než předchozí počiny. V pozadí je pořád cítit inspirace švédskými death metalovými klasiky, ale do popředí začala vyplouvat i americká škola. Jako celek je novinka smrtícím jedem, který vám postupně pronikne do žil. Cit pro morbidní melodie, chorobný vokál, drtivý zvuk, neurvalost, špína a tlak, to jsou všechno hlavní atributy nového alba. BAEST nejsou jen dnes tolik častou retro kapelou, ale skupinou s vlastním výrazem a postupy. Osobně se mi nejvíc asi líbí temná a chladná atmosféra celé nahrávky. Jako bych stál na břehu moře, po kolena v ropě a díval se na zkázu, za kterou si díky své nenažranosti můžeme sami. Novinka je propracovanější, důmyslnější, přesto si pánové zachovali feeling a uvěřitelnost. Masivní produkce všemu dodává na razanci. Slabší jedinci si budou rvát vlasy z hlavy, ale jedno je jasné, jestli se nezměníme, tak za chvilku budeme chodit po spálené zemi. A hrát nám k tomu bude "Necro Sapiens". Na konci tunelu není žádné světlo, za apokalypsu můžeme jen my sami. Zničující deska po všech stránkách!

I was just watching a documentary on television about how our planet is destroyed. A little girl stood on the shore of the sea. Knee-length in the garbage. The sad eyes of animals, in contrast to the only true predator in the world. A man, sometimes so thoughtful, sensible, clever. Other times, a monster longing for power. Why do I feel like the bad guys are winning lately? I have been listening to death metal for over thirty years and more and more often we are enjoying the pleasant catacombs than the new crematoria.

Danish BAEST is one of the young, talented bands that manage to combine an old deadly feeling with more modern sound and ideas. Their new album can easily be a soundtrack to an apocalypse that has already begun. I remember a concert in our city where they played for five people. After a few months, they addressed thousands of fans at a big festival. No wonder, few people have the talent to compose catchy, raw melodies like BAEST.

"Necro Sapiens" is a more brutal record than previous acts. In the background, you can still feel the inspiration from Swedish death metal classics, but the American school has also started to come to the fore. As a whole, the novelty is a deadly poison that will gradually penetrate your veins. A feeling for morbid melodies, sick vocals, a crushing sound, recklessness, dirt and pressure are all the main attributes of the new album. BAEST is not only a so often retro band today, but a group with its own expression and procedures. Personally, I probably like the dark and cold atmosphere of the whole recording the most. It is as if I am standing on the shore of the sea, knee-deep in oil, looking at the destruction that we can blame ourselves for because of our greed. The novelty is more elaborate, more ingenious, yet the gentlemen have retained their feeling and credibility. Massive production adds to everything. Weaker individuals will tear their hair out of their heads, but one thing is clear, if we do not change, we will walk on the scorched earth in a moment. And "Necro Sapiens" will play for us. There is no light at the end of the tunnel, only we can be behind the apocalypse. Destructive album in every way!
