Okolo téhle kovárny jsem chodil poměrně dlouho. Na periferii, na konci špinavé ulice. Někde na severu České republiky. Nakonec jsem se odvážil a vstoupil dovnitř. A byl jsem velmi mile překvapen, jaká kvalitní ocel je zde kalena. ARAWN přicházejí letos se svým druhým albem. A jsou pořádně naštvaní. Kladiva musí bít!
Pánové svůj styl, melodický death metal, okořeněný notnou dávkou thrashe, postupně pilují, brousí, snaží se o dokonalost. Na kapele je opravdu vidět, že se snaží, má tah na branku. Velmi dobrý zvuk, zajímavý obal, tohle všechno by mělo být samozřejmostí. U ARAWN je. A vy si tak můžete vychutnat další žíravinu ze severu.
S "Odkazy doby" nemám sebemenší problém. Rozhodně patří k tomu lepšímu, co jsem v tomto stylu loni slyšel. Občas mě sice trošku ruší české texty, ale to je k diskuzi. Mnohým budou naopak vyhovovat. Ne že by nebyly dobré, ale někdy se soustředím víc na ně, než na hudbu. Možná je to ale účelem, mě přesto více sedí angličtina. Jinak je vše v absolutním pořádku. Fanoušci evropské melodické death metalové školy budou určitě spokojeni. Nejsilnější stránkou kapely jsou právě chladné a ostré melodie. Struktura songů je v mnoha momentech podmanivá, posluchač dostane přesně to, co očekává. Nakumulovanou agresi, mráz, touhu ničit. ARAWN sice nenahráli nejlepší album dekády, ani neotočí dějinami hudby, ale deska není jen obyčejným řemeslem. Má v sobě něco navíc, co odlišuje dobré skupiny od špatných. Je nahraná od srdce, s nadšením a to mnohdy znamená o hodně víc než Satan ví jaké komplikované kompozice. Rány kladivem, co drtí kosti. Vztek nad současným světem, jehož jsme nedílnou součástí. Já myslím, že vše je v pořádku. Melodický death metal ukovaný z kvalitního surového železa! Velmi dobře!

These gentlemen gradually saw and grind their style - the melodic death metal spiced with a good dose of thrash. You can clearly hear that the band really tries and they have got some goals. Very good sound, interesting cover. All of this should not be surprising any more. It´s ARAWN. And you can enjoy another caustic from the north.
I don't have any slightest problems with “Odkazy doby”. It is definitely one of the best things I heard this year, in case of this style. Sometimes I am quite disturbed by the Czech lyrics but that is the matter for discussion. On the contrary, they will suit many of you. Not that they aren't good but sometimes I focus more on them than on the music. Maybe that´s the purpose, but I still enjoy English lyrics more. Otherwise, everything is in absolute order. Fans of the European melodic death metal school will definitely be satisfied. The strongest side of the bad are the cool and sharp melodies. The structure of the songs is captivating in many moments, the listerent gets exactly what he expects. Accumulated aggression, frost, desire to destroy. ARAWN may not have recorded the best album of the decade, nor will it turn the history of music. However, the record is not just an ordinary craft. It has something extra special in it that distinguishes good groups from bad ones. It is recorded from the heart, with enthusiasm, and if often means much more than, Satan knows, some complicated compositions. Hammer blows that crush bones. Anger over today's world, of which we are an integral part. I think everything is fine. Melodic death metal forged from quality pig iron! Very good!
