Zvedám další víko od rakve a musím si zacpat nos. Takový neskutečný puch jsem již dlouho necítil. Takhle smrdí opravdová smrt. Mrtvola ve značném stádiu rozkladu vypadá, jako nějaká hodně stará loutka. Kdysi dávno zubožené a prokleté tělo snad není ani z tohoto světa. Cítím z něj velkou bolest a strach. Tahle exhumace bude hodně náročná, ještě že k ní mám dobrou hudbu.
Napadá vás něco lepšího než starý dobrý švédský death metal? BASTARD PRIEST se vrátili. Po dlouhých devíti letech. Jsou stále v plné síle a jejich čtyři nové skladby jsou velmi přesvědčivé. Jako za starých časů, jako v minulém století, kdy se po světě proháněly podobné death metalové smečky a svět přísahal na pohřeb do země.
Směsice prašivého death metalu, crustu a punku téhle kapele vždy slušela. "Vengeance... of the Damned" je pokračováním věcí minulých. Odkazem z opuštěných katakomb. Dlouhým stínem, čerstvě exhumovanou mrtvolou ve stylu CARNAGE, ENTOMBED, REPUGNANT. Čtyři ostré skladby, čtyři čepele, které se vám zabodnou přímo do břicha. Švédi moc dobře ví, jak složit dobrý motiv. Umí vytvořit náladu starých pohřebišť. Není to sice nic, co bychom už někde neslyšeli, ale to dnes můžete napsat o každé kapele. BASTARD PRIEST jsou velmi uvěřitelní v tom, co dělají. Ve starém prašivém old school death metalu. Vytáhnu mrtvolu na světlo a ona se začne postupně rozpadat v prach. Stejný pocit mám i z téhle desky. Trávím v podzemí již dlouhé roky, ale pokaždé jsem rád, když pro sebe najdu kus hudby, který dokáže znázornit temnotu. Není to lehké, ale Švédům se to opět povedlo. Po mrtvém těle zůstal jenom smrad a plesnivá dřevěná rakev. Neboj se, také jednou takhle skončíš. Než se tak ale stane, tak poslouchej "Vengeance... of the Damned". Připraví tě na poslední cestu. Smrt si říká BASTARD PRIEST!
