A few questions - interview with death metal band from Germany - HERETIC WARFARE.

A few questions - interview with death metal band from Germany - HERETIC WARFARE.

Answered guitarist Ingo, thank you!

Ave, can you introduce your band to our readers? – When was it founded and what style of music do you play etc.?

Yeah ,we are Jan Wiltschut (vocals) ,Lukas Hülserman ( bass ) Jan Hageman( drums) and Ingo Fussangel ( guitar) ,and we are Heretic Warfare from Münster,Germany! Our band was founded by me ( Ingo) , Jan Wiltschut and our former bassplayer Toshi in 2012!

We play a wild bastard out of fast deathmetal like early Deicide and brutal thrashmetal like Dark angel ! I think everyone of the old great deathmetalbands had thrashroots, so you can call it deathmetal!

Where and under what conditions were you recording the new album? Who was in charge of sound, production and mastering?

We were in a little studio in Bremen, Germany. It is called „Sunsetter Recording Studio“! We had just a week ,so we slept there ,ate there and forgot about time and space, and worked from early morning until one or two at night .

It was an intense and exhausting experience ,but the encouragement was worth it ! Fabian Schulz recorded us and was also in charge for mix and mastering. He did a great job...no one was hurt, hehehe.

How many copies were released and which medium was used for this new edition (CD, digital, vinyl, cassette)?

We made 1000 copies of the cd! I hope they will sellout after this interview so we can make the next 1000 (: Vinyl will be released by MyRuin records ca. end of february ! It is digital on Bandcamp and Amazon.

Who is the author of the lyrics and how were they created and about what do the lyrics deal with?

The Lyrics are written by Jan (vocals) who takes a lot of time finalizing them. The lyrics are complete fiction basicly painting a picture of a war torn dystopian future. Jan describes a world of death and destruction on a galactic scale with an undertone of irony against religion and god. The lyrics are not political in any way apart from that they describe a really messed up future where their is nothing but war and subjugation.... Also Jan is a huge (Comic, Warhammer, SciFi) nerd.

Who created the logo of the band, and who took care of the graphics and the website? What about you and social networks? Do you consider these things important?

The logo was created by Basil Wrathbone, he also made the Artwork for the Sodom skateboard! (: . We all také care about the graphics and the website ...it is an necessary evil if you want to be noticed, and it has its advantages , i mean i would not do the interview with you without social network. So, yeah unfortunately it is important, hehe

Which label did you choose for releasing your album and why this label? Are you satisfied by how your label represents you and takés care about you?

We just have a Label for the LP! ( MyRuin-Records) We released the cd by ourselfs ,so at this point we are satisfied with us, hahaha...I am not able to say anything about the Label, wich releases the Vinyl, because it will be released end of february and we have no experience with them...i think they will do a good job...i hope for them (:

Which bands do you idolise and where do you get your inspiration?

I ( Ingo, guitar) grew up with the Death and Thrashmetal of the late 80s ,early 90s and that is the stuff i still get my inspiration from . Mostly Bands from USA like Deicide ,Death ,Cannibal Corpse ,Possessed,Sadus ,Dark Angel ,Wehrmacht, Demolition Hammer ...the usual suspects ,ya know. I like the fast aggressive style which beats you up from the beginning ,not to forget Napalm Death and Slayer for sure !! So as i sad i grew up with that ,thats why i have problems to write slow songs ,hehe, it just feels unnatural for me!

Did you send your record to some Labels - which are the labels? How was the response?

To be honest, we send it to a few small ones ..they had no money because of the fucking covid shit ….so we decided to stay independent !

How many gigs have you played? Which type of gigs do you prefer, whether it's (clubs or festivals) and which of your performances would you consider as the best?

We had a few Clubgigs, and they were all great, because we love playing live! We never played a festival..maybe in the future (:

What about your plans for the future? What do you want to achieve with the band?

To get worldwide attention and hopefully play festivals and many gigs in the future ! Maybe a tour with a bigger band ,that would be nice (:

How and where can your fans contact you? Can you provide some contact information?

Just like our Facebooksite ,there you will get all the information you need ..and more ,haha

Thanx for the interview and all the best for your magazine!

Stay healthy!
