Pozvali mě a tvářili se tajemně. Bylo to tak přitažlivé, záhadné, zahalené do té nejčernější tmy. Připadal jsem si jako při nějakém spiknutí. Opuštěný kostel, seance měla probíhat dole ve sklepě, nad rakvemi starých mnichů. Sestupuji dolů, nasávám plesnivý vzduch. Pentagram je nakreslen krví a svíce plápolají do rytmu odříkávané zvrácené modlitby. Nikdo mi neřekl, že budu obětí, prostředkem k vyvolání sil z onoho světa. Podříznou mi hrdlo a sledují, jak ze mě postupně uniká život. Tajný rituál, odcházím pomalu, zahalen do kouře a nekonečné bolesti. Potkávám duše zemřelých a poslouchám jen hudbu, která je mým průvodcem na druhé straně 

HEADS FOR THE DEAD dokázali navodit velmi podobné nálady již předchozí deskou "Serpent's Curse" z roku 2018 (odkaz na recenzi dole pod článkem). Letos pokračují v započaté práci. Riffy jsou opět nasáklé zkaženou krví, vokál vykazuje známky dávno zapomenutých death metalových chorob a vy si tak můžete vychutnat totálně temnou a chladnou atmosféru.

Každá nová deska je pro mě příběhem. Kapela se mnou pomocí své hudby rozmlouvá, našeptává, předává mi nepřeberné množství emocí. HEADS FOR THE DEAD jsou dle mých pravidel a názorů nasbíraných za dlouhých 30 let poslechu tvrdé muziky letos dokonalí po všech stránkách. Produkce, zvuk, obal, vše sedí na svých místech. Navíc je přidávána pověstná jiskra a drive. Držím v ruce kus smradlavého masa, které vyřízli při obřadu z mého nebohého těla. Skladby na "Into The Red" jsou opět načichlé death metalovým severem, okultismem, špínou a nahrubo nasekanou tmou. Album muselo vznikat v tom nejhlubším podzemí, během nářku všech prokletých. Znovu ležím na dřevěném stole, hlavní velekněz pozvedá obětní nůž. Všimnu si, že je na něm vyryto číslo 666. V ústech mám sucho a první bodnutí ani necítím. Natolik jsem ponořen do muziky, že vnímám vše ve svém okolí jenom jako mlhavý zlý sen. Potom přijde bolest a nekonečné utrpení. Smrt je jako vždy nakonec vysvobozením. Chvíle ticha a představa klidného spočinutí vezme za své při další skladbě. Následuje pravé, nefalšované a záhadné peklo. "Into The Red" je nahrávkou, které žhne pod povrchem, pálí a chladí zároveň. Postupně rozkládá moje vnitřnosti a stává se krví v mých starých žilách. Pradávné rituály znovu ožívají! Vynikající death metalová seance!

They invited me and looked mysterious. It was so attractive, mysterious, shrouded in the darkest darkness. I felt like I was conspiring. Abandoned church, the session was to take place down in the cellar, above the coffins of the old monks. I descend, sucking in moldy air. The pentagram is drawn by blood and the candles burn to the rhythm of the recited perverted prayer. No one told me that I would be a victim, a means to evoke forces from the other world. They slit my throat and watch as life gradually leave me. A secret ritual, I leave slowly, shrouded in smoke and endless pain. I meet the souls of the dead and listen only to the music that is my guide on the other side. 

HEADS FOR THE DEAD were able to evoke very similar moods with the previous album "Serpent's Curse" from 2018 (link to the review below the article). This year, they continue in their work. The riffs are again soaked with rotten blood, the vocals show signs of long-forgotten death metal diseases and you can enjoy a totally dark and cool atmosphere.

Every new record is a story for me. The band uses my music to talk to me, whisper to me, and pass on an inexhaustible amount of emotion to me. HEADS FOR THE DEAD are, according to my rules and opinions collected over 30 long years of listening to hard music, perfect in all respects this year. Production, sound, cover, everything fits. In addition, the famous spark and drive is added. I hold in my hand a piece of stinky flesh that was cut out of my poor body during the ceremony. The songs on "Into The Red" are once again smell of death metal north, occultism, dirt and roughly chopped darkness. The album had to be written in the deepest underground, during the lamentation of all the damned. I lie on the wooden table again, the high priest raising the sacrificial knife. I notice that the number 666 is engraved on it. My mouth is dry and I don't even feel the first stab. I am so immersed in music that I perceive everything around me as a vague nightmare. Then comes pain and endless suffering. Death, as always, is ultimately liberation. The moment of silence and the idea of ​​calm rest will take over during the next song. This is followed by true, unadulterated and mysterious hell. "Into The Red" is a recording that glows below the surface, burns and cools at the same time. It gradually breaks down my insides and becomes blood in my old veins. Ancient rituals come to life again! Excellent death metal session!
