Je to představa a nebo klam? Nevěděl jsem. Mlha se válela nad náhrobky a já měl najednou pocit, že v jednom hrobě se něco děje. Chodím sem rád, je zde klid. Mívám sluchátka na uších a poslouchám jen ty nejvybranější kousky death metalu. V hudbě musí být chvění, temnota a chlad. Musí ve mě vyvolat představy. Kostnatá ruka svírající se v pěst. Nemrtví zase jednou ožili a pozvali mě do svého světa plného tmy, smutku a utrpení. Hráli nám k tomu švédští FURNACE.
Rogga Johansson, Peter Svensson a Lars Demoké se sešli, aby nahráli letos své druhé dlouhohrající album. Je plné mrazivých severských melodií. Je odkazem starých časů, poctivou prací, death metalem, u kterého navěky umrznete.
FURNACE jsou nejen typickými představiteli melodické švédské death metalové školy, ale vydávají se ve svých skladbách až do oblastí, ve kterých působí třeba takoví PARADISE LOST nebo DECEASED. Celou deskou se vnáší jako pavučina melancholie a smutek. Pro mě osobně je hodně příjemné si jen tak ráno sednout ke svému oblíbenému hrobu a naslouchat. Vidím prastaré příšery, slyším ozvěny z nekonečných chodeb podsvětí. "Dark Vistas" ale není jen poctivým, ryzím řemeslem. Baví mě i atmosféra celé nahrávky, zvuk, rád se dívám na obal. Možná na mě jde nostalgie po starých dobrých časech, nevím, ale k albu jsem se rád a často vracel. Když venku pršelo, když jsem četl HP Lovercrafta, když jsem potřeboval rozdrásat svoji padlou duši. Odhrnu hlínu z hrobu a podám nemrtvému ruku. Usměje se na mě. Dneska bude dlouhá noc. V záhrobí nás už čekají s otevřenou náručí. Je chladná, studená a její objetí bolí, stejně jako "Dark Vistas". Procházím temnotou. Přidávám volume. Ano, tohle je přesně ono, deska přesně sedla do mé pochmurné nálady. Doporučuji všem, kteří rádi tráví svůj čas ve stínu! Death metal ze staré školy, který vás pohřbí zaživa.

I wear headphones and listen to only the finest pieces of death metal. There must be trembling, darkness and coldness in the music. It must evoke ideas in me. A bony hand clenching in fist. Rogga Johansson, Peter Svensson and Lars Demoké came together to record their second full-length album this year. It is full of freezing Nordic melodies. It is a legacy of old times, honest work, death metal that will make you freeze forever.
FURNACE are not only typical representatives of the melodic Swedish death metal school, but they also perform in their compositions up to areas where such PARADISE LOST or DECEASED work. The whole album is carried like a web of melancholy and sadness. For me personally, it is very pleasant to just sit in the morning at my favourite grave and listen. I see ancient monsters, I hear echoes from the endless corridors of the underworld. But "Dark Vistas" is not just an honest, genuine craft. I also enjoy the atmosphere of the whole recording, the sound, I like to watch the cover. Maybe I'm nostalgic for the good old days, I don't know, but I gladly and often returned to the album. When it was raining outside, when I was reading HP Lovercraft, when I needed to stir my fallen soul. I will brush the dirt from the grave and shake the undead's hand. He smiles at me. Tonight will be a long night. They are already waiting for us in the grave with open arms. She is cold, cold and her embrace hurts, just like "Dark Vistas". I'm going through the darkness. I'm adding volume. Yes, this is exactly it, the record fit exactly into my gloomy mood. I recommend to all who like to spend their time in the shade! Old school death metal that will bury you alive.
