Stojím na starém pohřebišti a přemýšlím, který hrob exhumuji dneska. Mraky jsou černé a vítr kvílí mezi korunami stromů. První nemrtvý vyleze z podzemí až kolem půlnoci. Podá mi kostnatou ruku a pozve mě do starodávné kobky. Mám neblahé tušení, že mě opět obklopí temnota. Má slova se potvrdí. Na mramorové desce, uprostřed prázdnoty, leží prokletý mnich a drží v ruce novou desku amerických death metalistů SKELETAL REMAINS.

Ti kdysi před lety přišli s prvním albem, které bylo prašivé jako stará smrt. Každé další pak bylo poctou určitému období, vždy trošku jiné, přesto zajímavé a dobře poslouchatelné. Letos jsou pánové brutálnější, techničtější, šílenější.

Novinka "The Entombment of Chaos" posunula kapelu až někam ke starým deskám MORBID ANGEL, možná i CANNIBAL CORPSE, MONSTROSITY, OBITUARY, PESTILENCE. SKELETAL REMAINS si ale také nadále drží svůj vlastní výraz a poznáte je mezi ostatními. Skladby jsou opravdu hodně nabroušené, zůstává po nich jenom spálená země. Možná jsem čekal víc prašiviny, víc plesnivých riffů, ale i tentokrát je album výborné. A to jak po zvukové (Dan Swanö), tak grafické stránce (Dan Seagrave). Nejdůležitější je samozřejmě hudba a ta se poslouchá opravdu příjemně. Drásá a bolí, riffy jsou mocné, nakopou vám zadek. Přibylo techniky i brutality, ale skladby jsou napsány tak, aby vás vykostili zaživa. Užívám si atmosféru starého pohřebiště, s chutí s kapelou exhumuji další a další hroby. Deska má neskutečný drive, takovou tu pradávnou temnou sílu, kterou mívaly kapely v devadesátých letech. Některým fanouškům možná bude chybět "větší old school", ale osobně jsem rád, že se kapela vyvíjí a neustrnula na místě. Smrt si letos říká SKELETAL REMAINS a pohřbí vás zaživa! Excelentní záležitost pro všechny, kdo mají rádi morbidní death metal!

Years ago, they came up with the first album, which was as scabby as the old death. Each further was a tribute to a certain period, always a little different, yet interesting and easy to listen to. This year, gentlemen are more brutal, more technical, crazier.

The new record "The Entombment of Chaos" moved the band somewhere to the old records of MORBID ANGEL, maybe also CANNIBAL CORPSE, MONSTROSITY, OBITUARY, PESTILENCE. But SKELETAL REMAINS also keeps its own expression and you will be able to recognize them among other bands. The songs are very sharp, leaving only scorched earth behind. Maybe I was expecting more dust, more moldy riffs, but even this time the album is great. Both in terms of sound (Dan Swanö) and graphics (Dan Seagrave). The most important thing is of course the music and it is really pleasant to listen to it. The riffs are powerful, they kick your ass. Techniques and brutality have been added, but the songs are written to unbone you alive. I enjoy the atmosphere of the old burial ground, I exhume more and more graves with the taste of the band. The record has an incredible drive, such an ancient dark force that bands used to have in the nineties. Some fans may miss the "bigger old school", but I'm personally glad that the band is evolving and doesn't stagnate. Death calls itself SKELETAL REMAINS this year and she will bury you alive! An excellent record for everyone who loves morbid death metal!
