Každé nové setkání s ruskou kapelou KATALEPSY ve mě evokuje utkání v kleci. Jejich hudba je natolik extrémní a přitažlivá, že mě pokaždé doslova pohltí. A to jak z desek, tak i při živém vystoupení. Líbí se mi, že dokáží za každých okolností předat obrovské množství energie. I novinka "Terra Mortuus Est" je přesně tím typem desky, která vám zpřeráží všechny kosti v těle.
Souboj riffů, devastujících bicích, chorobného vokálu - tohle všechno dohromady tvoří doslova smrtící koktejl. KATALEPSY mi připadají letos propracovanější, temnější, chladnější. Death metal, okořeněný slammem, groovovými pasážemi i spoustou technických prvků. Stačí se napít a zahynete v nekonečných křečích.
Na "Terra Mortuus Est" útočí Rusové bez varování, nekompromisně a cílí rovnou na solar plexus. Skladby jsou opět velmi dobře složené a pánové dál vybrušují svůj vlastní styl. Časté změny tempa, krutost a síla. Připadá mi, jakoby nám kapela opět dokazovala, že nenávist existuje. Při poslechu nahlížím najednou na svět přes pokřivené zrcadlo. Nesmím ale zapomenout ani na skvělý obal (W. Smerdulak) a zvuk. Tohle všechno jsou věci, které KATALEPSY nikdy nepodceňovali a dávají si na nich záležet. Pro mě osobně je ale nejdůležitější celkový dojem, atmosféra, do krve zahalené nálady, které se vznáší celou nahrávkou jako nějaký temný stín. Album mě bolí, drásá do krve, jsem nucen se k němu neustále vracet. Těch důkazů, proč je to skvělá nahrávka, je spousta. Netřeba ale nic dokazovat, stačí jen poslouchat. Sleduji kapelu od jejich počátků a jejich cesta i směr, kterými se vydali se mi hodně líbí. Novinka "Terra Mortuus Est" je toho jasným důkazem. Mám pocit, že nás někdo spolu zavřel do klece a řekl - bojuj. Hádejte, kdo vyhraje? Opět vynikající zásek pro všechny fanoušky extrémního metalu!

Every new meeting with the Russian band KATALEPSY evokes a cage match in me. Their music is so extreme and attractive that it always literally engulfs me. Both - from the records and during the live performance. I like that they can transfer a huge amount of energy under any circumstances. Even the new "Terra Mortuus Est" is exactly the type of album that will pierce all the bones in your body.
A duel of riffs, devastating drums, sick vocals - all this together makes a literally deadly cocktail. KATALEPSY seem to me more elaborate, darker, colder this year. Death metal, spiced with slam, groove passages and lots of technical elements. Just drink and you will die in endless convulsions.
The Russians attack "Terra Mortuus Est" without warning, uncompromisingly, and aim directly at the solar plexus. The songs are again very well composed and the gentlemen continue to hone their own style. Frequent changes in pace, cruelty and strength. It seems to me that the band is proving to us again that hatred exists. As I listen, I suddenly look at the world through a distorted mirror. But I must not forget the great cover (W. Smerdulak) and sound. These are all things that KATALEPSY have never underestimated and care about. For me personally, however, the most important thing is the overall impression, the atmosphere, the mood shrouded in blood, which floats throughout the recording like a dark shadow. The album hurts, scares me, I'm forced to keep coming back to it. There is a lot of evidence as to why this is a great record. But there is no need to prove anything, just listen. I have been following the band since their beginnings and I really like their journey and the direction they have set out. The new "Terra Mortuus Est" is clear proof of this. I have a feeling that someone locked us in a cage together and said - fight. Guess who will win? Again an excellent matter for all fans of extreme metal!
