Okolo těla létá hejno much. Kladou do rozkládajících se tkání vajíčka. Tahle mrtvola zde musí ležet již dlouhou dobu. Přivázaná na kříž, hlavou dolů. Již na první pohled to vypadá na nějaký tajemný rituál. Svíce kolem sice již nehoří, ale vzduchem se vznáší pach nenávisti. Ze zdí září do tmy krví nakreslené symboly. Vyděšená tvář. Co jsi viděla těsně před smrtí? Ptám se, ale odpovědi nepřicházejí. Muselo to být něco hodně děsivého.
Starý black death metal, který se hrával na přelomu osmdesátých a devadesátých let minulého století byl mnohdy taky takovým rituálem smrti. U hudby se oceňovala hlavně temnota a šílenství. Italští XPUS jakoby dlouhá léta tleli v nějaké kobce. Jejich hudba je totiž jak vystřižená z této doby. Pokud máte chuť, tak se s nimi vydejte na dlouhý výlet bez konce.
XPUS na to jdou ostře. Podobným způsobem jako třeba takoví INCANTATION, DARKTHRONE, MORBID ANGEL, DEICIDE, CENTURIAN, FUNEBRE, CRUCIAMENTUMM, VITAL REMAINS, POSSESSED a spousta dalších, kteří pochopili, o čem jsou opravdová tma a smrt. "In Umbra Mortis Sedent" je druhým dlouhohrajícím albem kapely a také důkazem, že opravdové peklo existuje. Italové jsou ryzí, uvěřitelní, jejich skladby mají tu správnou nihilistickou atmosféru. Při poslechu jsem opravdu členem padlého řádu kněží, kteří právě pořádají seanci pro vyvolání duší zemřelých. Oběť je připravena, ohně hoří. Nic nebrání tomu zmáčknout na přehrávači play a nechat se unášet na černých vlnách řeky Styx. Staří známí démoni u songů znovu ožívají, jejich rozšklebené tváře létají kolem v kruzích. Tohle je pro mě pravé inferno, hudba, která přesně znázorňuje temné stránky našich duší. Líbí se mi vlastně vše - zvuk, obal, produkce, ale hlavně nápady. XPUS vás stáhnou do hlubokých močálů, ze kterých není návratu! Rituální black death metal, který vás na věky prokleje!

The Italian XPUS seemed to be dormant in a dungeon for many years. Their music is as cut from this time. If you are interested, go on a long endless trip with them.
XPUS goes hard for it. In a similar way to INCANTATION, DARKTHRONE, MORBID ANGEL, DEICIDE, CENTURIAN, FUNEBRE, CRUCIAMENTUMM, VITAL REMAINS, POSSESSED, and many others who understood what true darkness and death are all about. "In Umbra Mortis Sedent" is the band's second full-length album and also proof that real hell exists. The Italians are pure, believable, their songs have the right nihilistic atmosphere. During the listening, I am a real member of the fallen order of priests who are holding a session to summon the souls of the dead. The victim is ready, the fires are burning. There's nothing to stop you from turning on the player and getting carried away by the black waves of the Styx River. The old familiar demons come to life with the songs again, their laughing faces flying around in circles. This is the real inferno for me, music that accurately depicts the dark sides of our souls. I actually like everything - sound, cover art, production, but most of all ideas. XPUS will drag you into deep swamps from where is no return! Ritual black death metal that will curse you forever!
