Vždycky jsem záviděl archeologům, když otevřely starodávné hrobky. Musí to být krásný zážitek. Objevovat, cestovat do historie. Podat ruku dosud neznámým mrtvolám. Vyzvednout těla z hrobu a přemýšlet jak kdysi žila, milovala, bojovala. Nejsem archeolog, ale poslouchám ryzí, prašivý death metal. S tímto stylem je to hodně podobné. Také mě dokáže přenést do starých časů, kdy se na nějakou tu prašivinu v hudbě nehledělo a smrt byla chladná a syrová. Záleží na kapele. Třeba KURNUGIA v sobě má to pravé, tajemné a magické kouzlo, u kterého se lámou kosti.
KURNUGIA je parta vzteklých psů, složená z hudebníků, kteří působili/působí ve skupinách jako EMBALMER, NUNSLAUGHTER, DECREPIT a spoustě dalších. Pánové se sešli, aby vyzvedli z hrobu rozpadající se rakev s nápisem old school death metal na boku. Myslím, že exhumace se povedla na výbornou.

Zkrátka a dobře, perfektně zahraná stará škola se vším, co k tomu patří. Živelné rezavé riffy, chorobný vokál, zvuk jak z kamenné hrobky. KURNUGIA rozhodně nejsou kapelou, která by bourala mantinely a posouvala death metal dosud netušeným směrem. Drží se zavedených pořádků a dělají to na výbornou. Cítím ze skladeb pach rozkládajících se mrtvol, slyším, jak červi nahlodávají tkáně. Vidím před sebou duchy dávno zemřelých, kteří tančí na svých vlastních hrobech. "Forlorn and Forsaken" je albem pro všechny fanoušky plesnivého smrtícího kovu. Berte a nebo nechte být! Tady se na nějaké zbytečnosti nehraje, vše je ohlodáno až do morku kostí. Mokvající death metal, který smrdí starobou! Prach jsme a v prach se obrátíme! Až navěky, amen! Zabijácké album!
