A few questions - interview with death metal band from Germany - DISGUSTING PERVERSION.

Answered Marcus, thank you!

Ave, can you introduce your band to our readers? – When was it founded and what style of music do you play etc.?

Hey Jakub, Marcus here with the guys in the back. Thanks for your interest in our band - it is an honour to give some insights in our activities. Disgusting was found in 2013 by Tobias Ruf to give vision about Death Metal a tangible form. 2016 I jumped in on drums and since then, we work really hard to define and redefine our style of old school death Metal as a band.

Where and under what conditions were you recording the new album? Who was in charge of sound, production and mastering?

We are like most of the underground bands busy with the all-day-life, so the circumstances were not the best, but there is no need to cry. We recorded all the stuff by ourselves in our homestudios. The latest output, Eternity of Death, was done from 2018 till 2019 which is a long period – but we learned a lot in these times. Concerning the sound, I would charge Tobias and Simon here; they were really into forming the bands sound. The pre-production was also done by us, and a huge part of the final work was done by the help of a mysterious person who doesn’t wanted to be mentioned here.

How many copies were released and which medium was used for this new edition (CD, digital, vinyl, cassette)?

We released just a bunch of physical mediums. At the moment, we discuss the option to release eternity of death on vinyl.

Who is the author of the lyrics and how were they created and about what do the lyrics deal with?

The lyrics are all done by Stefan. And as the lyrics are a big part of our musical vision, we work the main ideas out together. I would say: as attentive and thinking people we try to have a close look in all details of daily life. And one of the best thing as an artist is to process these thoughts in our interpretation of how a great Death Metal song should sound like.

Who created the logo of the band, and who took care of the graphics and the website? What about you and social networks? Do you consider these things important?

There is no doubt that the optical aspect is very important. I mean: look at us and our style – I would not say that this is a concept, but it has to fit together like a good outfit. Our band logo was created by Katha von Thymian, a good friend of the band. She did also the photographs of the band. Besides that, she is great in designing cool leather jackets – check out here artworks on facebook.com/KathacombesLeaterPainting/ and instagram.com/kathacombes.leatherpainting?igshid=1cb3xrzyhis2m

The bands homepage was done by our guitarist Simon, who did a great job here. The modern media thing is for sure an important one, so check out our channels and give them a try.

Which label did you choose for releasing your album and why this label? Are you satisfied by how your label represents you and takés care about you?

As you can imagine, there can be no fancy answer here. We released all of your own and we like the freedom it gaves to the band. Paying all the things by ourselves means on the other hand that we can decide about all the options and are not forced to do stuff we do not like or not willing to pay.

Which bands do you idolise and where do you get your inspiration?

Well then, I would not say „idolising“ but there are great bands and musicians out there who set the standard in Death Metal pretty high and are inspirating as well. Mostly these are original and unique bands and persons which are not typical mainstream and, for sure, are not into modern forms of metal. Just to throw in a bunch of names I would mention Revel in Flesh, Incarceration, Goath and Sulphur Aeon. And if you will go for bigger names and influences you will find a lot of Death, Grave, .... in our music.

Did you send your record to some Labels - which are the labels? How was the response?

No label work so far, but we are thinking of working together with some distributors the offer our stuff to a wider range of people who are interested in that. So feel free to contact us if you are interested in that.

How many gigs have you played? Which type of gigs do you prefer, whether it's (clubs or festivals) and which of your performances would you consider as the best?

That is a good question, because Death Metal works best on stage, right? I would say that DP is not the band who plays on every stage available. We prefer these gigs where you have great bands sharing the billing, bands who fit to our message and our musical context. So there is hardly no chance watching us on the Wacken main stage or on the 70k t of Metal cruise... just a joke...

We had some really cool club shows located in the south of germany, also some nice slots on smaller festivals which are also fun to play. Hopefully, the best performance lies in the future and is always the next gig to come.

What about your plans for the future? What do you want to achieve with the band?

Nothing special: Just following the path of real old school Death Metal, writing the best music we can do and working on real statements, not hollow phrases. Honestly, in my opinion the most affordable goal for a musician is to create a legacy. Playing on a bigger festival would be a nice add-on.

How and where can your fans contact you? Can you provide some contact information?

Catch us on all available plattforms. We react quickly and every form of support is much appreciated.

Thanx for the interview.

We have to thank for that support, hopefully our answers are interersting and you found something new and entertaining in it. Stay underground – stay death metal.
