Jedna rána střídá druhou. Mezi kamennými zdmi se rozléhají nekonečné údery bez konce. Práce je hodně, likvidace starého hřbitova započala před několika lety. Každý den vstáváme brzy a drtíme zpuchřelé kosti. Odpočíváme venku, mezi otevřenými hroby. Nálada je většinou pochmurná a obstojí u nás jen ryzí reálný death metal. Někdo nedávno přinesl švýcarské FUNERALOPOLIS. Stačilo jen pár poslechů a připadalo nám, že k nám patří odnepaměti.
Mám rád smrtící kov nasáklý zkaženou krví a doom metalem, líbí se mi, když se songy převalují jako mlha nad náhrobky. Jsem starou odrůdou fanouška, který oceňuje hlavně atmosféru. Hudba mi musí proniknout do krve, musím mít chuť se k ní vracet. Švýcaři nahráli album, které si mě získalo svojí opravdovostí a upřímností. A potom také tím, že se u něj dobře drtí staré kosti.
A tak je najednou u nás v katakombách divně veselo. Všichni se usmívají, užívají si povedený zvuk i zajímavý obal. Máme sice, díky naší hrobnické práci, smutek v očích, ale všichni dokážeme ocenit dobré řemeslo. "...of Deceit and Utter Madness" je albem, které muselo vzniknout ve starých kobkách, několik metrů pod zemí. Pohřbeno zaživa tlelo a hnilo, aby bylo jako vzácný artefakt vyzvednuto. FUNERALOPOLIS na to jdou stejným způsobem jako INCANTATION, AUTOPSY a GRAVE. Samozřejmě s notnou dávnou temnoty a chladu v melodiích. Není to deska pro fanoušky něčeho nového, progresivního, ale spíše pro všechny ty, kteří začínali s death metalem v devadesátých letech a chtějí si osvěžit paměť. Na staré modly se nesahá, ale je dobré si pořídit do sbírky i podobná alba jako je "...of Deceit and Utter Madness". Už jenom kvůli drcení kostí, kvůli černým náladám, zkažené krvi, mlhám na hřbitově. Jsem moc rád, že byla hrobka s nápisem FUNERALOPOLIS otevřena. Dává mi totiž naději, že pravá smrt ještě nezemřela! Hniloba!

One shot replaces another. There are endless blows without end between the stone walls. There is a lot of work, the liquidation of the old cemetery began a few years ago. We get up early every day and crush crumbling bones. We rest outside, among the open graves. The mood is mostly gloomy and only pure real death metal can have an effect here. Someone recently brought the Swiss band FUNERALOPOLIS. Just a few listening and it seemed to us that that album had belonged to us since time immemorial.
I like death metal soaked in rotten blood and doom metal; I like it when songs roll like the fog over tombstones. I am an old kind of fan who especially appreciates the atmosphere. Music must penetrate my blood, I must have a taste for returning to it. The guys from Switzerland recorded an album that caught me with its authenticity and sincerity. And then also by the ability to crush the old bones well.
And so it is suddenly weirdly fun in our catacombs. Everyone is smiling, enjoying a good sound and also interesting cover art. We have sadness in our eyes, thanks to our grave work, but we can appreciate good craftsmanship. "... of Deceit and Utter Madness" is an album that must have been written in old dungeons, a few meters under the ground. Buried alive, it rotted to be once dug out like a rare artifact. FUNERALOPOLIS does it the same way as INCANTATION, AUTOPSY and GRAVE. Of course, with a considerable portion of darkness and coldness in melodies. It's not a record for fans of something new, progressive, but rather for all those who started with death metal in the nineties and want to refresh their memory. You can't touch on the old idols, but it's good to buy the albums like "... of Deceit and Utter Madness" into your collection. Just because of the crushing of bones, because of the black mood, the spoiled blood, and the fog in the cemetery. I am very glad that the tomb with the inscription FUNERALOPOLIS was opened. It gives me hope that real death has not yet died! Putridity!
