Čerstvě otevřená hrobka. Odér smrti, pach nenávisti a nekonečná temnota. Starý hřbitov daleko na severu Švédska. Otvírám jednotlivé rakve a dýchá na mě minulost. Tihle mrtví byli pohřbeni kdysi v devadesátých letech. V dobách, kdy zde každá druhá kapela drtila pravý nefalšovaný death metal. Chlad, pytle kostí, vyrovnané u hřbitovní zdi. Exhumace hrobu s nápisem CARNAL SAVAGERY nad vchodem probíhá velmi dobře. Nemrtvým odpadává maso z těl, z úst jim lezou červi a hniloba je jejich druhým jménem.
Mám rád klasický švédský death metal. S chutí a nadšením stále nasávám pach smrti. Vybírám si do své sbírky kapely, které ví o čem je smrt. Smečky, které jsou prašivé, shnilé, jejichž hudba smrdí jako prasklý vřed. Rozbíjím víka od rakví, pořád hledám, objevuji, těším se na další bodnutí nožem. CARNAL SAVAGERY a jejich prvotina "Grotesque Macabre" vás navěky zmrazí a prokleje.
"Grotesque Macabre" je jako starý exhumační rituál ve stylu těch nejlepších alb DISMEMBER, ENTRAILS, GRAVE, SORCERY, WOMBBATH, ENTOMBED, INTERMENT. Pánové mají tento styl v krvi, dokáží složit skladby, které vás přikovou na zeď. Hlava rozseknutá na dvě půlky, zlomené všechny končetiny, mozek vyjmutý z lebky. Způsobů smrti je nekonečné množství, ale tady se popravuje hezky klasicky, tradičně. Se skvělých zvukem (Dan Swanö, Jonas Jönsson), zombie na obalu, která vám jde po krku (Hand Rot Art z Indonésie) a hlavně tunou devastujících nápadů. CARNAL SAVAGERY rozhodně nepřicházejí s ničím novým, ani objevným, ale songy jsou zahrány s nadšením, uvěřitelně a poctivě. Mám opravdu pocit, že jsem na starém hřbitově a spolu s kapelou exhumujeme dávno zapomenuté hroby. Odnáším pytle plné kostí, chřestím s lebkami. Prosévám mezi prsty prach, který tu zbyl po death metalu z devadesátých let. Novinka je jako nůž z pravé švédské oceli, který vám někdo zabodne přímo do srdce. Hroby jsou otevřeny!

Freshly opened tomb. The stench of death, the smell of hatred and endless darkness. Old cemetery in the far north of Sweden. I open individual coffins and the past breathes on me. These dead were buried sometime in the 1990s. At a time when every second band was crushing real unadulterated death metal. Cold, sacks of bones, lined up against the cemetery wall. The exhumation of the grave with the inscription CARNAL SAVAGERY above the entrance is going very well. The flesh of the undead fallen away from their bodies, and the worms creep out of their mouths, and rot is their middle name.
I like classic Swedish death metal. I still absorb the smell of death with gusto and enthusiasm. I choose bands for my collection that know what death is all about. Bands that are dusty, rotten, whose music smells like a cracked ulcer. I'm breaking coffin lids, I'm still looking, I'm discovering, I'm looking forward to another knife stab. CARNAL SAVAGERY and their first album "Grotesque Macabre" will freeze and curse you forever.
"Grotesque Macabre" is like an old exhumation ritual in the style of the best albums of DISMEMBER, ENTRAILS, GRAVE, SORCERY, WOMBBATH, ENTOMBED, INTERMENT. The Gentlemen have this style in their blood, they can compose songs that will nail you to the wall. Head cut in two, all limbs broken, brain removed from skull. There are an infinite number of deaths, but here they are executed nicely classically, traditionally. With great sound (Dan Swanö, Jonas Jönsson), a zombie on the cover that goes down your throat (Hand Rot Art from Indonesia) and especially a ton of devastating ideas. CARNAL SAVAGERS definitely don't come up with anything new or revealing, but the songs are played with enthusiasm, believably and honestly. I really feel like I'm in an old cemetery and together with the band we're exhuming long-forgotten graves. I take away sacks full of bones, I am rattling by skulls. I'm sifting the dust of death metal which left over here from the 1990s. The new album is like a knife made of real Swedish steel, which someone will stab right into your heart. The graves are open!
