Večerní zprávy a v nich rozzuřený dav, který proti něčemu protestuje. Asi věří v dobro, snaží se napravit svět. Ušlapou několik lidí, kamera zabírá detaily. Krev vždycky funguje. Pravá a levá, černá a bílá, neustálý souboj protikladů. Lži se šíří rychlostí blesku, stačí plivnout jedovatou slinu. Můžeš si stokrát říkat, že zůstaneš klidný, ale nakonec stejně toužíš po úkrytu. Zalézt si někam se sluchátky na uších a narvat si do hlavy dobrou muziku.
Ať si každý říká kdo chce co chce, ale THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER si stále drží slušnou úroveň. Za poslední roky nepodlezli nikdy pomyslnou laťku kvality. Letošní rok a novinka "Verminous" rozhodně nejsou výjimkou.
Spousta melodických sól, hlas Trevora Strnada, ne, tuhle smečku si rozhodně s jinými nespletete. Letos zahaleni do zelené, s tradičním tlakem a energií, útočí jako hladoví psi. Přiznám se ale, že mě tahle smečka sice nikdy vyloženě nezklamala, ale také vyloženě nenadchla. Jakoby mi pořád něco trošku vadilo. Nevím vlastně ani co (možná určitá "vlezlost"), nelze se zavděčit všem, ale i tentokrát mám pocit, že už jsem tohle všechno někde slyšel. Víc mě THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER vlastně baví naživo, kdy mi předají víc emocí. Chybí mi trošku víc špíny, živočišnosti, pocitu, že musím jít a zbourat zeď. Na mě je kapela možná až příliš hodná. Pravděpodobně ale nejsem cílová skupina posluchačů. Přitom se jedná o v podstatě dokonalý produkt, který se bude velmi dobře prodávat. Spousta riffů, trošku té rebelie, ale zároveň se album dobře vstřebává. Sedím tu v pokoji, šokován z večerních zpráv, poslouchám novinku stále dokola a nejčastěji mě napadá slovo - solidní. Ale jo, pořád lepší, než drátem do oka. Metal!

Evening news with an enraged crowd protesting against something. They probably believe in the good and are trying to fix the world. They step on several people and the camera is capturing the details. Blood always works. Right and left, white and black, a constant duel of opposites. Lies are spreading at the speed of light, just spit a venomous saliva. You can say that you will be calm for a hundred times but in the end you want to stay hidden. To get somewhere with your headphones and put on some good music.
Let everyone say what they want, but THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER still maintains a decent level. During the last few years they have never lowered their imaginary bar of quality. This year and their new album “Verminous” is definitely no exception.
A lot of melodic solos, Trevor Strnad´s vocals, no you can't confuse those guys with any other bands. This year they are wearing green with their traditional pressure and energy, they attack like hungry dogs. I have to admit that they have never disappointed me however they have never excited me that much. As if something still bothers me. I honestly don't know what it is (maybe a little bit of “intrusion”), you cannot make everyone happy. This time I feel that I have already heard all of that before. THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER excites me when playing live because they show me more emotions. They lack more dirt, rawness and the feeling that I need to tear down a wall. Maybe the band is too nice for me. I'm probably not the target audience. At the same time, this is a perfect product that will sell very well. Lots of riffs, a little bit of rebellion but also nicely absorbed album. I am sitting in my room, shocked from all the evening news, listening to the new album over and over and the word still coming in my mind is - solid. Yeah, it is still better than nothing. Metal!
