Na starých hrobkách mě vždycky fascinoval zápach. Pokaždé, když vstoupím dovnitř, tak mám pocit, že se kolem mě vznáší smrad smrti. Je pro mě jasným a zřetelným znamením, že jsem zde správně. Nemám rád spalovny mrtvol, jsem stará škola, já raději pohřeb rovnou do zmrzlé země. S hudbou to mám hodně podobné. Líbí se mi živoucí, mokvající, prašivá muzika, která mě dokáže svým výrazem přitáhnout k přehrávači. Umělé desky mě nudí, necítím z nich srdce. Raději si poslechnu něco, co už jsem stokrát slyšel v minulosti, než plastové a uřvané záležitosti.
Do ruky se mi dostala novinka REEK, kapely, kde hraje na kytaru a zpívá Håkan Stuvemark z WOMBBATH a zdatně mu sekunduje Rogga Johansson (PAGANIZER atd.) taktéž na kytaru. Co asi tak může vzniknout z podobného spojení? Ano, tušíte správně, plesnivý, kosti drtící death metal.
"Death Is Something There Between" je deskou, která je načichlá starými ENTOMBED. Old School Death'n'Roll v jeho ryzí podobě. Nic jiného nečekejte, nic jiného nedostanete. Zkrátka a jednoduše, výstřel se zásahem rovnou na komoru, rozdrcené lebky, lámání kostí tím nejbolestivějším způsobem. K tomu klasický, tradiční švédský sound. Taky nějaká ta těla v márnici, která se po setmění dají do nekonečného tance. Zombie dávno ovládly náš svět, stačí se rozhlédnout kolem sebe. Podobnou hudbu si dávám do hlavy, když jsem unavený, když je všechno kolem mě černé, ošklivé a pochmurné. Dodává mi energii, nakopne mě a alespoň na chvilku donutí zvednout hlavu. Představte si rezavý buldozer, který nelze zastavit. Ničí vše živé, roztrhá vás na kusy. Stejně jako album "Death Is Something There Between", které je pro mě skvělou vzpomínkou na devadesátá léta minulého století. Popraskaná víka od rakví, pach opravdové smrti a death metal, kterému můžete věřit. Nahrávka, která vás přenese na staré pohřebiště! Katakomby byly otevřeny!

I was always fascinated by the smells of the old chambers. Every time I step inside, I feel like a stink of death is hovering around me. It is a clear and distinct sign to me that I am in the right place. I don't like crematoria, I'm an old school man, I prefer the funeral where the body goes straight to the frozen ground. I have this quite similar with music. I like a living, moist, scabby music that can attract me with its expression. Artificial records are too boring for me, I can't feel the heart from such albums. I'd rather listen to something I've heard hundreds of times in the past than synthetic things.
Into my hands, I got a new REEK album, a band where Håkan Stuvemark from WOMBBATH plays guitar and sings and Rogga Johansson (PAGANIZER etc.) playing guitar too, supports him quite efficiently. What could possibly arise from such a connection? Yes, you guessed it right, moldy, bone-crushing death metal.
"Death Is Something There Between" is a record that is reek with old ENTOMBED. Old School Death'n'Roll in its purest form. Don't expect anything else, you won't get anything else. Shortly and simply said, this is a shot with a hit directly on the chamber, crushed skulls, breaking bones in the most painful way. In addition, a classic, traditional Swedish sound. Also, some of the bodies in the morgue that start an endless dance after dark. Zombies take control of our world, just look around. I listen to such kind of music when I am tired when everything around me is black, ugly and gloomy. It gives me energy, kicks me, and for a moment forces me to raise my head. Imagine a rusty bulldozer that can't be stopped. It destroys everything alive, tears you to pieces so as the album "Death Is Something There Between", which is a great memory of the nineties for me. Cracked coffin lids, the smell of real death and death metal you can trust. A record that will take you to the old burial ground! Catacombs have been opened!
