Jako blesk z čistého nebe do mého života vstoupila nová deska brazilské SEPULTURY. Spálila mě na popel, zničila. Jakoby mi přiložil na tělo někdo rozžhavenou minci z obalu a vypálil cejch. V době, kdy každá druhá kapela úspěšně recykluje svoje nápady, případně se vrací ke svým začátkům, tak brazilští maniaci vyvrhli na boží světlo svěží, pestré a moderní album, které doslova devastuje svoji silou a energií.
Vypadá to, a já tak novinku opravdu slyším, že si pánové při nahrávání sáhli na samé dno. Výkony jednotlivých muzikantů jsou vynikající. Obzvlášť bubeník Eloy Casagrande odvedl skvělou práci. K tomu si připočtěte stále neotřelé a zajímavé riffy Mr. Kissera a jako víno zrajícího vokalistu Derricka Greena. Navíc drží všechny skladby pohromadě v mocném celku. Jedná se o příběh, o mocný opus, který posluchače doslova strhne.
Při prvních setkáních mě sice trošku odrazovala délka skladeb, ale po několika dnech se "Quadra" usadila v mé hlavě. Je až obdivuhodné, že si i po tolika letech udržuje kapela svoji úroveň. Směrem, který pánové určili již v roce 2013 albem "The Mediator Between Head and Hands Must Be the Heart", pokračovali a rozvíjeli jej i na minulé desce "Machine Messiah" (2017), aby letos ještě víc uzráli a dostali ze sebe to nejlepší. Líbí se mi, že se Brazilci nebojí experimentovat a zároveň nezapomínají na své kořeny. Novinka je až nebývale temná, drsná, chladná, nejvíc asi připomíná ledovou vichřici, smršť. Hodně tomu přispívá i vynikající produkce od Jense Bogrena. Jakoby se na "Quadra" spojil jihoamerický temperament a švédská zima. Pak je tu ještě jedna hrozně důležitá věc, kterou jako fanoušek kapely cítím. Je hrozně příjemné SEPULTURU obdivovat, poslouchat ji, užívat si jejich hudbu i inteligentní texty. Letos byl opět jejich nepopiratelný talent přetaven v dílo, které se mi doslova zarylo do hlavy. Působí na mě opravdu jako blesk z čistého nebe. Tuhle minci budu v ruce převalovat ještě hodně dlouho a už dnes má čestné místo v mé sbírce. Strhující extrémně metalový opus!

A new record from the Brazilian SEPULTURA entered to my life like a bolt from the sky. It burned me to ashes, destroyed. It is like someone put a red-hot coin on my skin and burned brand from the cover. At a time when almost every band successfully recycles their ideas, eventually returning to their beginnings, the Brazilian maniacs cast into the light a fresh, colourful and modern album, which literally devastates by own power and energy.
It looks like, and I really hear that the gentlemen touched the bottom when recording this new album. The performances of the individual musicians are excellent. Especially drummer Eloy Casagrande has done a great job. Add to this still fresh and interesting riffs of Mr. Kisser and the matured vocal of Derrick Green. In addition, they keep all songs together in a powerful whole. It is a story, a mighty opus that literally pulls the listener.
During the first meetings I was a bit discouraged by the length of the songs, but after a few days "Quadra" settled in my head. It is almost admirable that even after so many years the band keeps its level. The direction that the gentlemen have already set out in 2013 with the album "The Mediator Between Head and Hands Must Be the Heart", continued and developed it on the previous album "Machine Messiah" (2017), to be even more matured they had to give the best of themselves. I like the fact that Brazilians are not afraid to experiment and at the same time do not forget their roots. The new album is unusually dark, rough, cold, most likely resembles an ice storm, whirlwind. Jens Bogren's excellent production also contributes a lot to this. It seems as if the "Quadra" is a combination of South American temperament and the Swedish winter. Then there is one more important thing that I feel as a fan of the band. It is very nice to admire SEPULTURA, listen to them, enjoy their music and intelligent lyrics. This year, their undeniable talent has been transformed into a work that has literally burst into my head. It really looks like a bolt from the sky. I will roll this coin for a long time and it already has an honorary place in my collection. Breath-taking extreme metal opus!
