Pravda se ukrývá někdy hodně ukrytá ve stínu. Pod nánosem špíny, tajemna a mrazu. Přesto se vyplatí ji hledat. Někdy to bývá těžké, vím, ale když si odmyslíme pro mnohé typické masky, nakonec se stejně ukáže. Podobně to mívám i s hudbou. Hodnotím a užívám si ji hlavně podle toho, jak na mě působí, co se mnou dělá, jak mě hněte, mačká, transformuje.

Hned na začátek musím napsat, že nová deska německých DESERTED FEAR mě příliš neoslovila. Je sice propracovaná, s velmi dobrým zvukem, spoustou roztodivných nálad, ale nijak mě nebolí a nepálí. A to je u mě problém. Jakoby si album "Drowned by Humanity" vždy jen proletělo kolem mě, bez toho, aniž by po sobě zanechalo nějaké stopy.

DESERTED FEAR na to jdou podobným způsobem, jako to dělají AT THE GATES, AMON AMARTH, někdy mám pocit, že dokonce i jako americké komando DETHKLOK. Kapela se snaží působit chladně, místy se jim to dokonce daří, jen nikdy neumrznu. Já potřebuji cítit ze skladeb rozkládající se kusy mrtvol, ne jen příjemný chládek. Mám také trošku problém některé songy odlišit od sebe. Motivy jsou si navzájem velmi podobné a vše vyznívá ve výsledku značně nepřehledně. Připadá mi, že se Němci po předchozích skvělých počinech rozhodli až příliš zvolnit, naskočit na komerčnější vlnu. Troufám si tvrdit, že spousta fanoušků to přivítá s nadšením. Já mezi nimi už ale nebudu. Jak jsem psal na začátku, tahle deska má spoustu vrstev, ale pravdu aby člověk hledal jen těžko. Všechno je takové solidní, až moc uhlazené, obyčejné. Ztrácím se. Bohužel.

I appreciate and enjoy the music mainly according to how it affects me, influences me, how moves or transforms me.

Right from the start, I have to write that the new album of German band DESERTED FEAR has not touched me too much. It is sophisticated, it includes an excellent sound, lots of moods, but it does not hurt me or burn me. And that's a problem for me. As if the album "Drowned by Humanity" always fly around me, without leaving any traces behind itself.

DESERTED FEAR follows the same line as AT THE GATES, AMON AMARTH, sometimes I have a feeling that even as the American squad DETHKLOK. The band is trying to sound very cold, sometimes they even succeed, but I just never get freezing. I need to feel the pieces of decaying corpses from the songs, not just an agreeable cold. I also have a big problem to distinguish between particular songs. The motifs are very similar to each other, and all sounds very confusing in the result. It seems that the Germans have decided to slacken pace after the previous great albums and to jump on a more commercial wave. I dare to say that a lot of fans will accept the new record with enthusiasm. But I won’t be among them anymore. As I wrote in the beginning, this record has plenty of layers, but it is hard to find the truth. Everything is so solid, so smooth, and ordinary. I am getting lost. Unfortunately.
