Vždycky jsem záviděl těm, kdo dokáží zatančit šavlový tanec. Ostré, lesklé čepele, nebezpečí, napětí a spousta energie. Zkušenost, obratnost, síla a tlak. Také temná atmosféra a adrenalin. Přiznám se, že podobné věci hledám i u muziky. Potřebuji, aby mě pohltila, spolkla jako nějaká obrovská příšera s krvavým pohledem. Musím cítit emoce, spadnout do propasti, rozpustit se v riffech, rytmech.

O holandských maniacích LEGION OF THE DAMNED by se dalo říci, že jsou dnes již legendou. A jak to tak bývá, mají ve své diskografii lepší i slabší alba, postupně si vybudovali svůj nezaměnitelný styl a výraz. Kusy thrashe i smrti jsou podávány pokaždé s odhodláním a jasným úmyslem zabít. Nečekal jsem nic převratného, ale musím napsat, že nové album má absolutně zvláštní, nakažlivou atmosféru. LEGION OF THE DAMNED se povedlo vytvořit stejnou náladu jako při šavlovém tanci.

"Slaves of the Shadow Realm" je albem, pohybujících se v klasických thrashových mantinelech (DESTRUCTION, KREATOR), přidávají temné vyhrávky a pasáže. Jsou ostří, nekompromisní, ale nebojí se i pomalejších chvilek (snad severští THE CROWN). To jsou ale záležitosti, které můžeme slyšet u spousty kapel. To co dělá z LEGION OF THE DAMNED originální těleso, jsou jiskřivé nálady, těžko popsatelný pocit, že musíte jít a skočit přímo do mosh-pitu. Občas bývá Holanďanům vyčítána monotónnost, ale troufám si tvrdit, že tento rok k žádným stereotypům nedochází. Skvělá je totiž i produkce (nejen nápady), bolestivý zvuk, vše je krásně čitelné, úderné, šílené (obal famózní!). Kdysi mi někdo říkal, že tuhle smečku buď milujete nebo zatratíte. Za moji maličkost mohu napsat, že se jim letos povedlo vydat nahrávku, která bourá zdi. A to píšu jako člověk, který není skalní fanoušek. Temný thrash/death metal! Chytili mě do pasti! Velmi dobře!

I admit that I look for similar things even with music. I need to be swallow, swallowed by some huge monster with a bloody look. About Dutch maniacs LEGION OF THE DAMNED we could said they are a legend today. And as it happens, they have better and weaker albums in their discography, they gradually building their unmistakable style and expression. Pieces of thrash and death are served each time with determination and a clear intention to kill. I did not expect anything terrific, but I have to write that the new album has an absolutely special, contagious atmosphere. LEGION OF THE DAMNED managed to create the same mood as while the sable dance.

"Slaves of the Shadow Realm" is album that moves in classical thrash barriers (DESTRUCTION, KREATOR), they adds dark moments and passages. They are sharp, uncompromising, but they are also not afraid of slower moments (perhaps THE CROWN). But these are matters that we can hear from many bands. What makes the LEGION OF THE DAMNED original are sparkling moods, a hardly descriptive feeling that you have to go and jump right into mosh-pit. Occasionally Dutch was insulted that they are monotony, but I dare say that this year there are no stereotypes. Great is also the production (not only ideas), painful sound, everything is beautifully readable, striking, crazy (a cover is famous!). Sometimes someone told me you love or hate that band. For myself, I can write that this year they managed to release a recording that breaks the walls. And I write this as a man who is not their true fan. Dark thrash / death metal! They caught me to the trap! Very good!
