Ave, can you introduce your band to our readers? – When was it founded and what style of music do you play etc.?
Hi, we are Critical Defiance from Chile and we play THRASH METAL since 2013, through our music we seek to embody the feelings of anger and retaliation against the corrupt and neglectful circles that rule and oppress our entire society day by day. We are currently promoting our latest work, the debut Lp Misconception, dedicated to all the true fans of the fastest metal.
Where and under what conditions were you recording the new album? Who was in charge of sound, production and mastering?
Javier Ortiz and Fabián Valdés handled the production and mastering of the record, we recorded at a small studio in Limache Chile, it was a great experience to be able to make the songs come to life.
How many copies were released and which medium was used for this new edition (CD, digital, vinyl, cassette)?
1000 copies in CD-PRO thanks to UAR
We are currently searching for a label interested in releasing a vinyl or tape.
Who is the author of the lyrics and how were they created and about what do the lyrics deal with?
The lyrics are made by Felipe Alvarado and Ignacio Arevalo, other people has also written some lyrics as Joaquin Muñoz (former guitarist) and Fabian Villegas (former drummer). In the lyrics we deal with topics such as war, political tyranny, internal conflicts with the self etc.
Who created the logo of the band, and who took care of the graphics and the website? What about you and social networks? Do you consider these things important?
The author of the art and logo of the band is Bastian Velasquez. We take care of our own social networks, they are important for the promotion of the band.
Which label did you choose for releasing your album and why this label? Are you satisfied by how your label represents you and takés care about you?
We crossed paths with Unspeakable Axe Records and we couldn’t be more glad, they took care of releasing the record in its definitive format and they have also helped a lot in terms of promoting our record, we are really thankful for that.
Which bands do you idolise and where do you get your inspiration?
Metallica, Voivod, Slayer, Pentagram, Necrosis (the search), Razor, Annihilator. Inspiration is found in everyday life and the things that we encounter day by day.
Did you send your record to some Labels - which are the labels? How was the response?
We have only had contact with UAR.
How many gigs have you played? Which type of gigs do you prefer, whether it's (clubs or festivals) and which of your performances would you consider as the best?
We have played lots of gigs! We like playing very loud, especially at clubs. We consider that all our performances have something to offer, we make sure we put the 100% at every show!
What about your plans for the future? What do you want to achieve with the band?
We are currently on the process of rehearsing songs for the new record, we hope to start working on that by the end of the year and we will release a demo with 3 new songs in a couple of months if everything works out all right.
