Vždycky se těším, až budu moci otevřít další rakev. Nedávno jsem objevil u nás v márnici tajemnou místnost, kde leží balzamovaní kněží, kteří se protivili Bohu. Mám radost z každého, kdo plive do tváře zaslepeným věřícím. Leží tu s rukama sepnutýma, se srdci probodnutými, s obrácenými kříži v dlaních. Poslední dobou to vypadá, že na světě zase vyhrává tupost a nenávist. Je potřeba znovu oživit padlé duše, aby se vydaly do boje se zlem. Zapalte ohně!
DEICIDE jsou kapela, která už asi nepřijde s ničím novým. Je to tak jen a jen dobře. Glen Benton, jako hlavní velekněz, drží vše pevně v rukou a udává směr. I letošní album můžeme zařadit do novodobé historie kapely, která je více melodická a temnější, než jejich počátky. Někomu se tento vývoj nemusí líbit, ale je také nutné napsat, že novinka řeže ostře a nekompromisně.
"Overtures of Blasphemy" je perfektně zvukově ošetřeným albem, s parádním obalem. Co se týká nápadů, tak ty stylově vystihují DEICIDE bez výhrad. Temnota, surové melodie, spousta rouhání. Jedná se zkrátka o velmi solidní řemeslo, které jsme od kapely očekávali. Některé skladby mi lehce připomínají VADER, sóla jsou zase jak vystřižená od SLAYER. Samozřejmě, s devastujícím hlasem Glena Bentona v popředí. Američané letos dodali esenci pravého nefalšovaného old school death metalu vlastní výroby. Mladším posluchačům toho asi již příliš neřeknou a technicky zaměřeným fanouškům také ne. Nevadí to, tahle smečka směřuje jinam, do starých katakomb, kde se zlo potkává s nenávistí, kde jsou jeptišky obětovány a věřící hoří v plamenech. "Overtures of Blasphemy" není převratným kusem smrti, ani vlastně ničím výjimečným, ale velmi dobře se poslouchá a když u něj lehne popelem nějaký další kostel s nekalou pověstí, tak se také zlobit nebudu. Hail DEICIDE, hail Satan! Velmi slušná porce temnoty!

DEICIDE is a band that probably will not come up with anything new. It's just so good. Glen Benton, as the chief high priest, holds everything firmly in his hands and gives direction. We can also include this album in the modern history of the band, which is more melodic and darker than their beginnings. Some people may not like this development, but it is also necessary to write that the novelty is cutting sharply and uncompromisingly.
"Overtures of Blasphemy" is a perfectly sound-treated album, with a superb cover. About ideas, they are stylishly depicted DEICIDE without reservations. Darkness, raw melodies, lots of blasphemy. This is, in short, a very solid craft that we expected from the band. Some of the songs remind me slightly of VADER, the solos are again cut out by SLAYER. Of course, with the devastating voice of Glen Benton in the foreground. The Americans have delivered the essence of their own true old school death metal. They probably will not say much to the young fans and to the technically oriented fans. It does not matter, this band is heading different way, into old catacombs, where evil meets hatred where nuns are sacrificed and believers burn in flames. "Overtures of Blasphemy" is not a breakthrough piece of death, or even nothing special, but it is very good listenable album and when during he listening is some another church with an unfair reputation burned, I will not be angry. Hail DEICIDE, hail Satan! A very good portion of the darkness!
