A few questions - interview with death metal band from Spain - MURDERWORKER.
Ave, can you introduce your band to our readers? – When was it founded and what style of music do you play , etc.?
Hello! Murderworker is a band from Sevilla, in the south of Spain. The band was created in early 2017 as a result of the dissolution of other projects we had at that time. From the beginning and until now the band has tried to do musically Death Metal, influenced mainly by classical bands of the genre. A month ago we released our debut album entitled "Where The Screams Becomes Silence", through BASE RECS and we are in full promotion of our work and organizing live shows!
Where and under what conditions were you recording the new album? Who was in charge of sound, production and mastering?
The recording of the album has been totally homemade, in our rehearsal room. Ruben Rodriguez, from NEBUR ZONE PROD, has been responsible for the production and mastering. We think that to be a first work done by ourselves and the help of the producer the result is more than satisfactory
How many copies were released and which medium was used for this new edition (CD, digital, vinyl, cassette)?
At the moment the album has been edited only in CD format and limited to a print run of 500 copies. Later on, if we see it opportune, maybe we will release it in another format or we will get more copies.
Who is the author of the lyrics and how were they created and about what do the lyrics deal with?
The authors of the lyrics are our bass/vocals and also our guitar/vocals since both make vocals in the band. The album is a conceptual content fiction about a subject named Jeffery Killmer, a ruthless assassin who wanders with his sharp ax looking for possible victims!
Who created the logo of the band, and who took care of the graphics and the website? What about you and social networks? Do you consider these things important?
The logo of the band was created by ModBlackmoon Design and the cover artwork of the album by Luis Sendon, bass player of the band Nasghul and known for his countless works for other bands, festivals, etc ... As a "non-professional" band we consider that the social networks are a good channel to promote us quickly and economically, so we dedicate all the time and possible care!
Which label did you choose for releasing your album and why this label? Are you satisfied by how your label represents you and takés care about you?
The label responsible for releasing the album is BASE RECS PROD. They trusted us and we are very happy with their work. They are a modest and underground label, and we are a modest and underground band, so everything is in its rightful place until now!
Which bands do you idolise and where do you get your inspiration?
The members of the band are over 40 years old, so you can imagine what bands influence us. We have no predilection for any scene, American, English or Scandinavian ... but our style can be similar to that of classic Death Metal bands like Obituary, Entombed, Demilich, Bolt Thrower, Gorefest, Demigod, Carcass ...
Did you send your record to some Labels - which are the labels? How was the response?
No, we did not go through that promotion process, since the recordings came from a serious proposal by BASE RECS PROD.
How many gigs have you played? Which type of gigs do you prefer, whether it's (clubs or festivals) and which of your performances would you consider as the best?
The band has little time of existence and almost all this time has been used in the recording of the album. We have done two concerts so far, one in the pub and the other in the hall. We have experience in live shows with previous bands, but in any case, either in one place or another all have their positives and negatives. The important thing is to have fun and that those who see you enjoy!
What about your plans for the future? What do you want to achieve with the band?
Our immediate plans are to promote our album as much as possible and perform all the live show we can do. Later on, we will focus on launching new material for a next recording! We do not have great ambitions as a band, rather keep working and stay expectant!
