Odsouzen k nekonečnému trpení se postupně rozkládám. Stávám se rašelinou, částí hlubiny. Děsí mě tlak, dusím se vlastní krví. V lebce se mi stupňuje tlak a maso začíná odpadávat od kostí. Je konec? Ptám se stále dokola a odpověď nepřichází.
PORTAL. Návštěva do jiné dimenze, dalo by se také napsat. Australská kapela, která hraje experimentální death metal takovým způsobem, že budete mít strach otevřít oči. Natolik nihilistické a chaotické jejich nové album "ION" je.
PORTAL jdou na hranu nebo spíše ještě za ní. Rozhodně se nejedná o jednoduchou záležitost pro masy. Spíše bych fanoušky viděl jako "narušené" jedince, kteří mají rádi, když hudba bolí. Vstřebat riffy a náladu, která se zcela vymyká obvyklým postupům, je hodně těžké. Posluchač zpočátku vůbec nechápe. Všechno zlo začne vylézat na povrch až postupně. Podobně se v určitých momentech ke své tvorbě staví třeba kolegové MITOCHONDRION, IMPETIOUS RITUAL, ABYSSAL, TEITANBLOOD, EVANGELIST, DEATHSPELL OMEGA. "ION" je nepříjemným, nebál bych se napsat i ošklivým albem, narvaným temnými emocemi, spoustou disharmonií a technikou. U poslechu se budete trápit, mnohdy odcházet s nepochopením. Výsledný verdikt nechám na vás, obrázek si určitě uděláte sami. Ono vlastně ani žádný být nemůže. Natolik jsou PORTAL jiní, odlišní. Tak si nechte chutnat, jen pozor, abyste se neudusili.

"ION" is unpleasant, I would not be afraid to write an ugly album with dark emotions, a lot of disharmony and technique. At listening you will be troubled, often leaving with misunderstanding. I will leave the resulting verdict on you. PORTAL are so different. So enjoy it and just be careful, don’t let them suffocate you.
