A few questions – interview with death metal band from Ireland - DIRTYPROTEST.

Ave, can you introduce your band to our readers? – When was it founded and what style of music do you play , etc.?

Dirtyprotest started in 2006 as a solo project to produce music and colaberate with musicians online, line up to date is : Alan Hurley (Ireland) /music/production and Thomas Blanc (France)/vocals.Aurélien Fouet-Barak (France) /Lyrics

Where and under what conditions were you recording the new album? Who was in charge of sound, production and mastering?

Our first release "Hellstorm" was written and pruduced in Cairo,Egypt by Alan, originally from Dublin/ireland and living in egypt, the vocal tracks were recorded and composed by Thomas in France,,it took about a year to fully finish 9 songs for the album, for the production it had to gritty, and for that swedish guitar sound, the legendary bosshm2 pedal was used on the album,a number of guests have also featured on the album from guest vocals to guest guitar solos.

How many copies were released and which medium was used for this new edition (CD, digital, vinyl, cassette)?

We originally planned on a free digital release online but we will be getting physical copies of the album pressed to cd this year and will be available to buy online

Who is the author of the lyrics and how were they created and about what do the lyrics deal with?

All the lyrics for the album were written by french man Aurélien Fouet-Barak who also sang guest vocals on a track on the album,,the topic for the lyrics was world politics,ww2/world corruption.

Who created the logo of the band, and who took care of the graphics and the website? What about you and social networks? Do you consider these things important?

The artwork and the logo for the album was created by english artist Neil Edward.

In the modern age social networks have been great for bands to promote their music and to reach out to other musicians and find new bands,,definatly a lot easier that it was back in the day making cassete demo tapes and posting them out to labels,etc..

Which label did you choose for releasing your album and why this label? Are you satisfied by how your label represents you and takés care about you?

At the moment we have a label from france interested in releasing the album for us,its still early days so thats all we can say at the moment

Which bands do you idolise and where do you get your inspiration?

We love a lot of oldschool deathmetal bands, anything from the early 90's.

Did you send your record to some Labels - which are the labels? How was the response?

Yea, we have some good feedback so far, we have just released our album and are no promoting it online.

How many gigs have you played? Which type of gigs do you prefer, whether it's (clubs or festivals) and which of your performances would you consider as the best?

For the moment as an online project we have no plans to play gigs

What about your plans for the future? What do you want to achieve with the band?

At the moment there are some new songs written for a new album,,this one will have more of a blackmetal influence and the new stuff is starting to také shape

How and where can your fans contact you? Can you provide some contact information?

You can contact us on facebook or you can listen to the album on band camp

Thanx for the interview.
