Few questions –  interview with brutal death metal band ANTIPATHIC.

Few questions – interview with brutal death metal band ANTIPATHIC.

Ave, can you introduce your band to our readers? – When was it founded and what style of music do you play , etc.?

Antipathic was started the beginning of 2017. Tato and I have know each other for many years, but never played in any other bands together before this. The majority of our style is modern death metal, but it also has many other elements like slam and grind incorporated.

Where and under what conditions were you recording the new album? Who was in charge of sound, production and mastering?

We recorded pieces of all songs separately- both in Italy and the US. All guitars and drums were tracked at my studio in the United States, and Tato recorded the bass and vocals in Italy where he lives. When we finished each of our parts, I would mix them here at Underground Sound, and then take the completed mixes over to Watercourse Sound Studio (another studio in my area) for mastering by John McGinley.

How many copies were released and which medium was used for this new edition (CD, digital, vinyl, cassette)?

The EP was first released in digital format in April, and then we made a limited run of 100 physical CDs in a Digipack.

Who is the author of the lyrics and how were they created and about what do the lyrics deal with?

That would be me (Chris). The basic theme of the lyrics are about technology, and how it is destroying humanity. Basically how robots and machines can and will soon rise up to kill us all!!! Hahah.

Who created the logo of the band, and who took care of the graphics and the website? What about you and social networks? Do you consider these things important?

Chris Horst of the ‘Horst Type Foundry’ created the logo and Sidjimbe Art did the cover artwork. We had a basic idea for the concept, and Sidjimbe created a really sick cover. Both of those guys are super talented.

Tato and I work on updating all the websites/ social media accounts. I think social media is really important- it’s the easiest and most direct way we can connect with people interested in the band (probably even necessary for a band like us that lives in separate countries and can’t tour like a typical group of musicians).

Which label did you choose for releasing your album and why this label? Are you satisfied by how your label represents you and takés care about you?

This EP was self released, and we have done all of the promotion and production for ‘Autonomous’ ourselves. We are working on a full length right now that is due to be completed at the end of the year that will be released on Despise the Sun Records. I’ve worked with Andrea before through another band (Human Repugnance) and Tato knows him personally. Andrea is honest, and does alot to promote the bands on Despise the Sun. There are many fake labels out today trying to rip bands off, but his label has been around for many years.

Which bands do you idolize and where do you get your inspiration?

I can’t speak for Tato, but I enjoy so many different types of metal, and think I get a little inspiration from everything. The typical answer is Suffocation and Dying Fetus (who doesn’t like them?) but I always searched for bands that had different and chaotic song structures like old Psycroptic or Hate Eternal. Also, most any 90’s era death metal, 80’s thrash… there is just too much good shit to name!

Did you send your record to some Labels - which are the labels? How was the response?

Please see “which label did you choose to release the album” question.

How many gigs have you played? Which type of gigs do you prefer, whether it's (clubs or festivals) and which of your performances would you consider as the best?

We have played a lot of shows in the other bands we are in, but as Antipathic we have played none. That is the problem with very large oceans.. they tend to make practice difficult. Haha.

What about your plans for the future? What do you want to achieve with the band?

Currently we are working towards releasing our first full length, and trying to establish Antipathic as a solid name in underground music. It would be great to see the band grow to reach more people, and also whatever other opportunities might happen beside it being a creative outlet.

How and where can your fans contact you? Can you provide some contact information?

The best ways are probably through Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/antipathicband/) or email (antipathicband@gmail.com).

Thanx for the interview.

Thank you! We appreciate you taking some time for the band.
