A few questions – interview with death metal band from Iceland - NARTHRAAL.
Ave, can you introduce your band to our readers? – When was it founded and what style of music do you play etc.?
Narthraal
was founded late 2012 by Viktor Penalver and Antonio Aguilar with the sole
purpose to start playing old school death metal, we haven't strayed from that
path and we don't plan to.
Where and under what
conditions were you recording the new album? Who was in charge of sound,
production and mastering?
We
recorded the album at Studio Emissary and the man in charge of sound,
production amd mastering was Stephen Lockhart.
How many copies were released and which medium was used for
this new edition (CD, digital, vinyl, cassette)?
Well
for starters we're going to have 500 copies printed, then we'll see where we go
from there!
We he yet to decide whether or not we will do a vinyl release but the album will be released digitally via Inverse Records on Spotify and other such mediums.
Who is the author of the
lyrics and how were they created and about what do the lyrics deal with?
Our Vocalist Viktor was the one who wrote the lyrics, as to what the lyrics deal with it varies, some songs are anti-religious, one song focuses on how the planet is dying and how we are to blame, other than that it's just mostly about gory, gruesome death!

Who created the logo of the
band, and who took care of the graphics and the website? What about you and
social networks? Do you consider these things important?
It
was Þorvaldur Guðni Sævarson who created our logo, a dear friend of ours...the
cover art for „Screaming From The Grave“ was done by Marko Hassman and so far
we don't have any official Narthraal website, just social media which should
answer our stand on social network.
Which label did you choose
for releasing your album and why this
label? Are you satisfied by how your label represents you and takés care about
you?
We
landed on a contract with Inverse Records and I can't say we're anything but
happy with how well they have represented us!
Which bands do you idolise
and where do you get your inspiration?
Bloodbath,
Dismember, Entombed, Entrails, Amon Amarth...those are all bands we idolize and
where we get most of our inspiration as a band.
Did you send your record to
some Labels - which are the labels? How was the response?
We
send our material everywhere we can, sometimes we get replies, sometimes we
don't, all we can do is keep our fingers crossed.
How many gigs have you
played? Which type of gigs do you prefer, whether it's (clubs or festivals) and
which of your performances would you consider as the best?
We
can't really count the gigs we have played, we've played at clubs and twice at
the local festival known as Eistnaflug which would probably count as our
favorite performance
.
What about your plans for
the future? What do you want to achieve with the band?
What
any band wants to achieve really, we just want to get our music out there and
into as many MP3 players as possible.
How and where can your fans
contact you? Can you provide some contact information?
You
can always contact us on our facebook page www.facebook.com/narthraal
Thanx for the
interview.
Likewise,
it was an honor.
