Few questions – interview with NECROT

Few questions – interview with NECROT

Ave, can you introduce your band to our readers? – When was it founded and what style of music do you play , etc. ?

Hey! Thanks for the interview. Necrot was formed in 2011 and we play death metal and punk!

Where and under what conditions were you recording the new album? Who was in charge of sound, production and mastering?

The new album is a compilation of our three out of print demos released from 2012-2014. Our friends Jeff Davis (RIP) and Greg Wilkinson originally recorded and mastered the demos. Recently, Dan Randall at Mammoth Sound, remastered all the tracks to give them a similar sound since they were all recorded at different times and with different engineers.

How many copies  were released and which medium was used for this new edition (CD, digital, vinyl, cassette)?

1000 LP and CD were pressed as well as 500 cassettes. The LP has three different colors: Clear Red, Clear, and Black.

Who is the author of the lyrics and how were they created and about what do the lyrics deal with?

Luca writes all of the lyrics for the band. The lyrics are mostly inspired by the mortal nature of our human life and the way everything comes to an end. Also by modern society and the way it traps people into an illusion of happiness when the reality is that we live in a world of injustice where nobody is really free

Who created the logo of the band, and who took care of the graphics and the website? What about you and social networks? Do you consider these things important?

David Mikkelsen of Undergang and Extremely Rotten Records created our logo. Lukas Krieg did the artwork for our first three demos. Kyle House of Acephalix drew our cover, back cover, and insert artwork for the compilation album. We have a few different websites up online but we usually just use our Facebook page the most. I think social media is useful for promotion of bands. Almost everyone has internet access now and is able to discover new music from around the world.

Which label did you choose for releasing  your album and why this label? Are you satisfied by how your label represents you and takés care about you?

Oakland, California based label, Tankcrimes, was in charge of releasing the LP and CD versions of our new album. Sentient Ruin from Oakland and Extremely Rotten from Copenhagen, Denmark were in charge of releasing the Cassette. We chose Tankcrimes because it was the only label serious enough to release a record for us. We had talked with Scotty for a while and he was just as interested as we were into making this record a reality. Sentient Ruin is run by our friend Mattia Alagna and he was the first to offer a Cassette version of the album. David Mikkelsen from Extremely Rotten was brought into the fold once everything was figured out. We went on tour with his band Undergang in February of 2013 and he also released our first demo for us back in 2012 in conjunction with our label, Blood Divine.

Which bands do you idolise and where do you get your inspiration?

Grave, Death, Immolation, Bolt Thrower, Morbid Angel, Motörhead, Slayer, Autopsy, Discharge, Extreme Noise Terror, Repulsion, Terrorizer, Master, Napalm Death, Dismember, Sacrilege (UK)

Did you send your record to some Labels - which are the labels? How was the response?

When we originally started out we sent demos to different labels and zines for reviews or trades but we sold out of most of the copies through touring and sales online. We wanted people to actually receive a physical copy since we were a new band and were virtually unknown.

How many gigs have you played? Which type of gigs do you prefer, whether it's (clubs or festivals) and which of your performances would you consider as the best?

I think we have played close to one hundred shows. Not entirely sure. We play all ages and bar/clubs shows. If the lineup is good and people go, it's guaranteed to be a great time. Our record release show was one of our best for sure! Also the time we played with Venom, Inc in San Francisco.

What about your plans for the future? What do you want to achieve with the band?

We want to tour all over the world and keep making sick records! That's been our goal since day one.
