Few questions – interview with HOSTAGE OF FATE
Ave, can you introduce your band to our readers? – When was it founded and what style of music do you play , etc. ?
Ave Jakub, thank you so much for the interview. Me (Achilles) and George have been playing guitar since 2004 and decided to slowly build a band around 2008. Our first album (released in 2013) could be described as Death/thrash metal, since however our latest music fits more in the Death/Grindcore genre.
Where and under what conditions were you recording the new album? Who was in charge of sound, production and mastering?
Everything was done in my home studio in Rhodes, both me and George did everything that has to do with the production of the music.
How many copies were released and which medium was used for this new edition (CD, digital, vinyl, cassette)?
On May 5th 2016 we released the new album on digital format only and of course in a series of lyric videos on youtube.com. CD production will take place somewhere in July.
Who is the author of the lyrics and how were they created and about what do the lyrics deal with ?
I wrote all the lyrics of the album, almost all of them allegoricaly dealing with everything that can be encountered in our human lives. God, time, death, life, love, betrayal, hate, anger, sorrow,depression.The lyrics on the track ”Dead” got inspired by the Syrian crisis and are dedicated to all the people who faced the terrible fate of losing your home to war.
Who created the logo of the band, and who took care of the graphics and the website? What about you and social networks? Do you consider these things important?
The logo of the band is the work of the very talented Giannis Nakos – Remedy Art Design.
The artwork of the new album was based on a sketch and idea of mine and got perfectly illustrated from Michael Andresakis, guitarist of Green Yeti, who we thank whole heartidly and will sure work again in the future. He’s amazing!

Being in charge of all social networking, both me and George consider them one of the most important tools in our mission to share our music. In this digital age, not having access to these kinda means you ’re not existent to the world. Simple as that.
Which label did you choose for releasing your album and why this label? Are you satisfied by how your label represents you and takés care about you?
We hope to get a record deal in the future. Right now we are strictly indepentent and D.I.Y.
Which bands do you idolise and where do you get your inspiration?
A lots! At the Gates, Death, Mastodon, Amenra, Converge, Fall of Effrafa, all the classic bands of the 80’s and early 90’s – from the greek scene we will like to give our regards to Delete the Mass and Narcan who influenced a lot our sound. Inspiration is drawn from everything you expierence and live actually. From there you can reach that high emotional state to put it into words and music.
Did you send your record to some Labels - which are the labels? How was the response?
We have sent our record only to Deathwish. We haven’t received any response of off yet. We hope we do!
How many gigs have you played? Which type of gigs do you prefer, whether it's (clubs or festivals) and which of your performances would you consider as the best?
None as of yet! After the summer we will be moving in Thessalonica hopefully and along with the third member of the band (Malamidis Akis) we plan on doing a lots of them. A lots.
What about your plans for the future? What do you want to achieve with the band?
Great smiles, beautiful times, a lot of good music, travel into space.
