Few
questions - Interview with VOMIT DISEASE
Ave,
can you introduce your band to our readers? – When was it founded
and what style of music do you play , etc. ?
The
band was founded in 2009 by Danilo (guitar) and Dominik (vocals) as
Cult of Cunt, who started as a very simple Brutal Death Band. 2010
the Band changed name to Vomit Disease and over the course of 4
years, with numerous line up changes, the band wrote the debut and
recorded it in the end of 2015.
Where
and under what conditions were you recording the new album? Who was
in charge of sound, production and mastering?
We
recored at the Deadlight Studio in Nuremberg
(https://www.facebook.com/deadlightstudio), which is run by Lars
Lüttge, with whom I played in Necropsy a few years ago.
He
did the whole recording session, as well as mastering. Soundwise, we
did wanted a good but still raw sound with real drums and he nailed
it.
How
many copies were released and which medium was used for this new
edition (CD, digital, vinyl, cassette)?
We
released a first version of 50 CDs as well as a digital version which
is available on bandcamp, amazon etc.
Who
is the author of the lyrics and how were they created and about what
do the lyrics deal with ?
Lyrics
were written by Dominik and me (Andreas). Mostly we deal with
Tyranny, Hierarchy, Blasphemy, Revolution. Some ware influenced by
historical events other by works of fiction.
Who
created the logo of the band, and who took care of the graphics and
the website? What about you and social networks? Do you consider
these things important?
The
Logo was created by Pale Blue Slumber Logos
(https://www.facebook.com/Pale-Blue-Slumber-Logos-300099180008192/?fref=ts)
who also did the album artwork.
We
do not have a website outside of our Bandcamp and Facebook page.
These are obviously improtant to get noted, promote gigs and sell our
music. But we try to not annoy people with nonsense posts etc. If we
have something to say, we inform people – other than that we focus
on creating music.
Which
label did you choose for releasing your album and why this label?
Are you satisfied by how your label represents you and takés care
about you?
Right
now we do not have a label and finance everything D.I.Y. style. Maybe
we’ll find a partner for the future.
Which
bands do you idolise and where do you get your inspiration?
In
the beginning bands like Nile, Devourment etc were inspirations to
the sound but over the years a lot of different (metal) music styles
influenced us. Most of our songs are jam sessions.
Laurel
Crown was created by Danilo playing a classical accoutic song wrong
and us jamming over it. Other ones have been written at home by one
person and finalized in the rehearsal room.

Did
you send your record to some Labels - which are the labels? How was
the response?
We
have not yet but we will once we print another bunch of CDs. As said,
a little help would be nice as well as give us a little more exposure
and more possibilities to play live.
How
many gigs have you played? Which type of gigs do you prefer, whether
it's (clubs or festivals) and which of your performances would you
consider as the best?
I
think we have 20+ gigs so far and our last gig in our home town in
Nuremberg was pretty tight. Although Leipzig has always been good to
us, too.
I
personally like little, sticky clubs with the audience right on front
of you. A lot more personal but we have managed bigger stages as
well.
What
about your plans for the future? What do you want to achieve with the
band?
We
want to write good music, play live and have fun with it. Making a
living off of Death Metal is pretty hard or impossible so we’ll see
what we can achive. Maybe witht he help of a label we can reach more
people but the key is always making music we like to make.
How
and where can your fans contact you? Can you provide some contact
information?
You
can reach us through Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/VomitDisease)
or through our Bandcamp site (https://vomitdisease.bandcamp.com/).
Thanx
for the interview.
Thank you for the
