Can you introduce your band to our
readers? – When was it founded and what style of music do you play, etc.?
Hi. At first I’d like to say
thanks for the space for our band’s presentation. DEAD CARNAGE band started in
2013. Since then a couple of excellent musicians have played in it. Now there
are five members in our band: vocal - Joshua
(still active in Circle of Nature), bass guitar - Pedy (Antigod, Disfigured Corpse, Periferic), rhythm guitar – Yabback (Antigod, ex-Euthanasia), lead
guitar – Milhaus (Disfigured Corpse,
Pí, ex-G.O.R.E) and drums – Ferenc
(Antigod, Disfigured Corpse, Periferic). Apart from the singer we are from the
same town, we know each other for a long time, either from stages or pubs, so
we have incredible well-being in our band, which is the big advantage! We try
to play death metal, because this style is close to us a lot, although it
doesn’t seem to you because of a number of bands we also play in.
Where and under what conditions were you
recording the new album? Who was in charge of sound, production and mastering?
EP "The
only thing I ever wanted was to kill the God" was recorded with excellent
assistance of Prcek and Čepy in GM Studio Jablunkov in July 2015. Production is
my job, because all songs are composed by me. Except for the guys from the
Studio and the band especially Yabback has a well-marked share in the final
sound, because he is able to convert our ideas of sound into reality.
How many copies were released and which
medium was used for this new edition (CD, digital, vinyl, cassette)?
Because of the length
of recording we were allowed to release it as a mini-CD. We released it on our
own in edition of 100 pieces that were quickly distributed to our friends. We
have also sent some EPs to some zines and concert organisers.
Who is the author of the lyrics and how
were they created and what do the lyrics deal with about?
They mostly deal with hatred for
church and its several centuries long brutality in pursuit of faith and gathering
the assets that still remains. The lyrics are solely the work of Joshua, whom I
always send a home recording with the name of the song and he writes the lyrics
on his own, because he is a genius in it and we have never changed a word in
his lyrics.
Who created the logo of the band, and who
took care of the graphics and the website? What about you and social networks?
Do you consider these things important?
Like for many other bands our
logo was created by Hadgi from Antigod, who sent us his design after we had
approached him. I just slightly edited it to the form we have used since then.
I also look after other graphics as well as our official website. Our in my
opinion luxurious video recording is the result of our drummer Ferenc’s work.
Of course we use the social networks. Nowadays it is the easiest way to give
people information, so we update our profiles regularly.
Which label did you choose for releasing
your album and why this label? Are you satisfied by how your label represents
you and takes care about you?
We don’t co-operate with a label.
Which bands do you idolise and where do
you get your inspiration?
It is quite difficult to answer
because we have a great range in terms of bands we listen to and enjoy. In
fact, from heavy metal through thrash metal to grind core. As for me, as I
compose songs, it is obvious from the recording that I listen to death metal a
lot and the inspiration goes just from the bands of this style, e.g. from Czech
bands Hypnos or Fleshless, American bands Cannibal Corpse, Swedish death metal
bands Vomitory, Firespawn or Bloodbath. It isn’t our aim to play the same way
as this or that band, everybody of us tries to bring to our music something he
likes and the result is just being heard on the EP.
Have you sent your record to some Labels -
which are the labels? How was the response?
Well, we don’t exaggerate the
promotion of our EP so far. Where we have sent it, they already have the
schedule in 99% full for a long time ahead or they aren’t interested in release
of the EP. But we haven’t got the negative feedback type ‘We won’t release it,
it is terrible!’ yet. Therefore, we were very happy that Hedron from Pařát
Magazine had rung us and offered the EP edition to us. We’d like to say big
thanks to him for that.
How many gigs have you played? Which type
of gigs do you prefer, whether it's (clubs or festivals) and which of your
performances would you consider as the best?
We have had a couple of good gigs
and we don’t care if we play in a club or at the festival. There was the
excellent gig on the big stage of Czech Death Fest 2015 or in the Tattoo Club
of Arena Bar in Havířov, or in a small club in the B scene at Guttural Gore
Grind Mafia in Ostrava last year as well. Nowadays we don’t play so often
because of the time workload of the guys in other bands and we also try to
prepare material for our debut. We know that the greatness of concert is not
decisive but the atmosphere is!
What about your plans for the future? What
do you want to achieve with the band?
Now our main aim is to prepare in
100% for recording a CD that we are planning in summer. We have already
finished about a half and I’m sure it will be death metal according to our
ideas as well as in our EP. Then we are going to consider how to release the
recording (although we have already got some offers) and we are going to devote
to promotion of our band. The aim we have is to compose and play music that we
will stand up for it in 100% and that not only we but also listeners will love.
