Jsou to kapky krve, které mě přivedou na místo. Hluboko v lesích, daleko od lidí. Uprostřed divoké přírody, pod skalami, ke kterým si ukrývají šelmy svoje oběti. Najednou, když poslouchám novou desku holandských death metalových démonů LUCIFERICON, mám pocit, že někdo stojí ve stínu. Možná je to on, kterého se snažíme přivolat. Další tajemný rituál v řadě. Bývali jsme zklamaní, protože se nestalo nic. Jenže tentokrát je to jiné. Hraje nám tu nové EP "Sabatraxis" a ze tmy září žhnoucí oči plné nenávisti.
Sleduji tuhle smečku od jejich počátků (odkazy na recenze předchozích nahrávek najdete dole pod článkem) a pokaždé se k jejich hudbě rád vracím. Je totiž doslova nasáklá tmou, nahrubo nasekaným zlem, špínou a zkaženou krví. Vždy se jedná o rituál, který mě převede na druhou stranu, do země nekonečných stínů. Letošní počin není výjimkou. Hoří jasným, černým plamenem!
Nové EP se skládá ze tří skladeb, které zbyly z nahrávání předchozího alba. Jsou potom doplněny dalšími třemi songy, zahranými naživo. Kapela tak dokazuje, že je silná i na koncertech. Každé vystoupení (a vlastně i každé mé setkání s LUCIFERICON) je vždy rituálem. Musím zhasnout všechna světla, schovat se do sklepa, abych nasál všechnu tu sněť, plesnivinu, děsivé motivy, touhu zabíjet hudbou. Připadám si jako padlý kněz, který se dívá na hranici. Na té hoří další oběť inkvizice. Plameny nejdříve jenom olizují její nohy, aby nakonec začala hořet. Neodvolá, je pevná ve své obrácené víře, ale zemře v neskutečných bolestech. Lidé si odnesou její popel, protože věří, že je ochrání před zlem. Jenže to není pravda, budou stejně prokleti, stejně jako já, při poslechu této desky. Zvuk, obal, celkové provedení, vše je v nejlepším pořádku. Není divu, v kapele působí muzikanti z DESTROYER 666, PENTACLE, kteří moc dobře vědí, co a jak chtějí hrát, jak chtějí znít. Pokud jste fanoušci třeba takových IMPIETY, ANGELCORPSE, PERDTITON TEMPLE, CENTURIAN, MORBID ANGEL, VITAL REMAINS, WATAIN, tak zhasněte všechna světla a přidejte hlasitost. Dívám se do tmy a zdravím všechny démony. Kývají souhlasně hlavou, hraje se tu i pro ně. Skladby jsou záhadné, magicky přitažlivé. Sálá z nich chlad i temnota. Už zase vidím symboly zářící do tmy. Krev na oltáři, strach obětí. Mám pocit, že někdo stojí ve stínu. Možná je to on, kterého se snažíme přivolat. Další tajemný rituál v řadě. Oči samotného ďábla, zářící do tmy. Je na čase odejít na druhou stranu, do země nekonečných stínů. Tajemná, divoká, starodávná death metalová černá magie! Nekromantie, blasfemie, smrt!

Suddenly, when I listen to the new album from Dutch death metal demons LUCIFERICON, I get the feeling that someone is standing in the shadows. Maybe it's him we're trying to summon. Another mysterious ritual in a row. We used to be disappointed because nothing happened. Only this time it's different. The new EP "Sabatraxis" is playing, and glowing eyes of hatred shine out of the darkness.
I've been following this pack since their early days (links to reviews of previous releases can be found at the bottom of this article) and I love coming back to their music every time. Because it is literally soaked in darkness, coarsely chopped evil, filth and corrupted blood. It is always a ritual that transports me to the other side, to the land of endless shadows. This year is no exception. It burns with a bright, black flame!
The new EP consists of three tracks left over from the recording of the previous album. They are then complemented by three more songs, played live. The band proves that they are strong in concert as well. Every performance (and in fact every encounter I have with LUCIFERICON) is always a ritual. I have to turn off all the lights, hide in the basement to soak up all the snow, the mould, the eerie themes, the desire to kill with music. I feel like a fallen priest looking at the pyre. Another victim of the Inquisition is burning on it. The flames at first just lick her feet, and then finally she burns. She doesn't back down, she's firm in her converted faith, but she dies in excruciating pain. The people will take her ashes because they believe she will protect them from evil. But that's not true, they'll be just as damned as I am listening to this record. The sound, the cover art, the overall performance, everything is in top order. No wonder, the band is made up of musicians from DESTROYER 666, PENTACLE, who know very well what they want to play and how they want to sound. If you're a fan of the likes of IMPIETY, ANGELCORPSE, PERDTITON TEMPLE, CENTURIAN, MORBID ANGEL, VITAL REMAINS, WATAIN, turn down all the lights and turn up the volume. I'm looking into the darkness and saying hello to all the demons. They're nodding their heads in agreement, it's playing for them too. The songs are mysterious, magically appealing. They're cold and dark. I can see the symbols glowing in the dark again. The blood on the altar, the fear of the victims. I feel like someone's standing in the shadows. Maybe it's the one we're trying to summon. Another mysterious ritual in a series. The eyes of the devil himself, glowing in the dark. It's time to go to the other side, to the land of endless shadows. Mysterious, wild, ancient death metal black magic! Necromancy, blasphemy, death!
